Thread: Experimentation Already In TC?
A Test Center Architect posted his first post-patch results in crafting harvesters. Looks like capacity is experimentable for all harvesters, and output rate is also experimentable on mediums and heavies.
And as for the capacity issue, it appears that it's not quite so bad with the larger harvesters as it is for the personals.

Boy I wish they'd tell us these things before they cause widespread panic...
It would be nice if the Devs would at least respond to this "change". Apparently they havent even posted the change on the notes (not surprising for SOE).
It is not going to be fun checking harvesters every day or two and if this goes live I hope that we get all of our experimentation points.
I still dont get how this helps the economy whatsoever except for driving people to leave the artisan professions (especially Arch's with our huge need for resources).
Yeah, if they decided to stop fixing bugs and developing improvements for the next week and work on getting their overall communication system straightened out, I sure wouldn't complain. All the mini-panics that have been spreading due to lack of information, and so far I haven't seen one official poke his head in anywhere and say "This is what we did", or "This is why we did it." Would that cause even more rants? Probably, but I for one would feel much better actually knowing what was going on.
Anyway, I don't see this having a huge hit on the economy. Higher extraction rate and smaller capacity may just sort of cancel each other out... it'll drive some miners out of the industry perhaps, but those who stay will be mining for cheaper. Short-term, it'll mean lots of new harvester orders for Architects, and lots of old ones floating around.

You are making a massive assumption here that extractors will start at their current max. I get the impression they will start at zero and max at their current max value. That means less room and less resources and that is all bad.

I was going on the only piece of hard evidence we had... the guy from TC who posted that he made a medium mineral extractor with a higher extraction rate and smaller hopper. But anything we say now is just speculation until we either get detailed update notes or a lot more data.
