Thread: Heavy Extractor Cost
Hey,
Just wondering if anyone has a good price to charge someone for a heavy mineral extractor if they supply you with all the resources?
Thanks
Do they care if you critical fail and lose them all?
Do they care if it is a BER7 or a BER13?
I set my prices based on me supplying the resources, including the high-quality ones necessary to hit the high extraction rates. I have to include the notion that I'll eat every nth one I make due to criticals (which is why I make most of them in a factory.)
I typically tell people that they should sell the resources on the open market and just make it a cash deal with me.
Honestly, I don't know what to tell you. If they eat the risk and don't care about the result, then charge them something for your time. But I don't think that that is a good way to serve your customers.
I think that we should lower the cost of the extractors. the complexity of building it and the number of resources it takes to make one wouldn't we just lower it to about 50k to 75k so that newer artisans could afford them and not just the advanced weaponsmiths and armorsmiths.

Tarthos, you are welcome to charge whatever you want for your harvesters. Figure out a business model that works for you and go for it. There is no "set price" for anything in the game.
My personal opinion is that since harvesters are total money-making machines for miners and crafters that architects should charge according to the value that their customers are getting for them. Selling someone something that will pay for itself within 4 days and will never wear out isn't a model for long-term success in my book.

Absolutely spot-on. My advice after six-odd months as a masterarchitect? Set yourself a good target price and stick to it. Ignore the price-gougers and occasional mugs on these forums -I've seen so many cut-price architects come and go I've lostcount. What you make is in high demand now now and amounts to a money-making machine. Ignore the folk who claim they can buy it cheaper - nine times out of ten they'll come back. Place a vendor and advertise on the forums or the town bazaar - have faith in what you make and resist the urge to cut prices to below what you think is reasonable - it WILL sell. ![]()

OK iwas not sugesting sell them at a rediculously low rate but more like take it on base to base help the newb players get started if we give away one for just 15k and we can still sell ten others at 150k if we wish.
i am on the recieving end of one such deal. one wokkie arche GAVE not sell at discount but gave me 2 ber9 mineral mining installations. Thank you who ever you were i forget your namei forgot to add you to my friends list by mistake, i am extremely grateful.
I am now a novice arch and just seeing what it actually yakes to make one and am seeing justifcation on the 100 to 150 price. but like biglots in RL sell for less lets say cost of overhead and 30% profit and you'll sell more than you can make in a day and come out on top. In the Naritus Galaxy all minerals are going for a consistant 750units for 3k when i sell it for 1k units for 3k i sell out every day. i cannot keep stock i actually save minerals for myself and turn away buyers because i need XP too. and i am twice as wealthy as the next guy.
the business plan is a great idea though do whatever works in your area. but in mine i take the low cost high volume and weather you buy low from me then turn around and sell high to someone else i still made my money and you'll be back to me for more.
