We're the about only profession that can't customize any of their work for look. Tailors, armorsmiths, even droids can be customized. Why not furniture?

I've had so many requests for variations that I've had to disappoint people with. It would make the game so much more vibrant for those that want to spend time in their homes. I know people have been very creative doing things like aquariums and fireplaces -- but simple color changes to loveseats, chairs, and bedspreads would make so much difference!

I also love the suggestion for rugs and other decorative items.

I am sorry, I totally agree with your post. I would just like to know about the fireplace thing. Thanks.

I know what you mean. I want to customize my furniture soooo bad! I wanna make large pink couches and lime green ottomans and... well you get the point.

trust me when i tell you you dont want to customize furniture

you want to give people a tool to let them do it themselves

My proposal (as i post in every 'give me colored furniture' thread)

A re-upolster kit
works like a weapon/armor/clothing repair kit
give it 5 uses
allow the user to change the color to what ever they want
also possible - give furniture a condition after all, you can only re-upolster something so many times before you just have to break down and buy a new one

This way us busy architects can continue to mass produce furniture in factory crates and end customers can happily change the color of all their furniture without me having to hold their hand though it every week.

Can the correspondant propose this to the dev's or something, or maybe make a sticky post to get some architect feed back? am i the only one that would rather do this than stock 8 million differnt colors of everything on top of everything else i make?

I've got a fireplace pic on my site if you want to take a look at it. There are a couple variations you can do but that will give you the general idea.

As for the upholster kit, I would love that. I'm not much of a crafter, never have been never will be, but I do like design and such so letting me buy 30 couches and 6 kits and do whatever I want with it would work out great. Especially on your end since you won't have to go through the hassle of changing everything the same color on top of is this red bright/dull enough for you? No well I'll make a few more to show you until we get it right...wasting resources and screwing one of us out of money.

Definitely needed. I've had no end of unhappy customers who wanted colours I can't do.

A reapolster (sp?) kit would be great, but if you gave us that you would need to make something comparable to that for tailors, armorsmiths, droid engineers, and anyone else that colors stuff. Otherwise there would be a lot of whining.

Id say lets take it one step at a time and get the color palettes first.

Anything to change some of the gods-awful colored furniture we have now - that orange is just wrong. And nothing vibrant! No neon anything. Boo.

But I agree, there are many larger bugs to get fixed right now, I'll be fine to wait a bit on an upholstery kit

Sorry guys, I completely disagree right now. I dont want them doing anything else but troubleshootingthe problems we already have.

Fix the cake first and then worry about the icing please!
