Thread: No no no...failure to complete item..HELP!
So I make a schematic for ore mining units. The schematic was only made for 6 items.
It goes through the timer, and then all of the sudden, I get "failure to complete item"
Schematic is not in my data pad, and all the resources used for it are gone. Can't be replaced since it's an older resource.
Is my schematic *somewhere*? Anything I can do?
PS I was not using another crafting tool. There was no reason I can see for this happening.
1. Take a deep breath, everything will be OK ![]()
2. your schematic is in your factory. Click your factory, click access schematic slot, then click remove schematic.
3. Your schematic will now be on your datapad
4. Examine the schematic in your datapad, and verify you still have:
a. copies left on the schematic
b. The EXACT materials required by the schematic.
c. The 8k or whatever you have and other resources match the schematic.
5. Insert the schematic into the factory, (make sure you have the right one, if you made alot it can get confusing)
6. Click "list resources required" leave it open
7. Click open ingredient hopper (leave it open)
8. Go down the list, and one by one put the resources in the ingredient hopper, keeping track
9. close the ingredient hopper
10 open the ingredient hopper. sometimes they will go in there and you can't see them, this operation verifies they are there (should be )
11. Close everything and start the factory
Should be in business! Unless of course you dont have the right materials in sufficient quanity.
*note I'm not trying to talk down to you with these steps, this is the sequence I do for myself and works to check everything. I have freaked out before, don't worry hehe
Also check you have room left in your output hopper to take the new items made, sometimes factories stop around 80% full with a /bug error message.
Does all of this still hold true?
Things to note:
1) Plenty of room in inventory
2) Only one crafting tool being used at time
3) over 5k of each of the required resource
4) Plenty of room in Datapad to hold the schematic
1) Server Chilastra, Planet Rori
2) 0 lag (no one loves Rori
3) Good ping times, no packet losses, good fps (I find that when it's laggy, i crit fail a lot)
4) Schematics have been made with the same tool and same crafting station before with no problems.
5) Structure crafting station is not particularly close to any other stations (across the room in a medium naboo)
1. When you lost resources was it when you were MAKING the schematic?
2. Is your scematic in your factory?
1. Answer: if yes, then you critical failed on the schematic, make another one.
2. Answer: if yes, you put in the wrong schematic and they dont jive with the resources..you probably accidentally deleted you schematic. Make another one.
2. Answer: if no, you:
a. Accidentally deleted your schematic, or
b. Produced 6 ore units from that schematic. If you dont have 6 ore units, check your output hopper
Correction, forget 1, if you critical fail you don't make it to the schematic screen.
So your 8k of resources dissapeared? where did they dissapear from, the factory or your inventory? If not, just make another schematic.
I sucessfully got through the entire process of creating the schematic UNTIL the VERY last step. The screen where you choose how many items your schematic will make, and where you can rename your item. I hit "create schematic" or whatever it is, and after a moment or two, received the error, "failed to create item". Schematic never showed up in my datapad, but I lost all resources used in creating the schematic.
i did not lose 8k of a resource..
But really, the big problem is that I'm afraid to make any more manufacturing schematics for architecture items..which I need to do if I want to make heavies (which is what I was trying to do).
Just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else and what the contributing factors may be. It seemed totally random and did not seem to have a reason.
THis has been affecting me too, just recently. also I get "crafting session ended" in the middle of a crafting session. No reason. Everything worked just fine a few days ago. Something was recently broken, say the last 2-3 days.
I think the devs are trying to slow down the grinders by making things break more often. E.g. they want to stop those using the in-game macros to grind quickly, carpal-tunnel for all!
remember to put on your tin-foil hats!
When you're in the final screen, do NOT try to open another tool...purposefully or accidentally (points to self)..it will cause you to fail on the item you just "almost" made.
I have my number pad mapped to my toolbars. Well, one gets used to using the numberpad for...well...numbers.When typing the number of items i wanted my schematic to contain, i hit the numbers on the numberpad instead of the regular keyboard..it tried to open a tool, i got the "already crafting" message..then failed to complete item.
That's how it's done, folks.
