Thread: Resource Tables
I gues this might take from the game but if there was a way to track the resource's shifts or are they totally random?
IE; i was mining Feuvenhok steel on corellia then the shift happens and i can't even find it on the planet. i had to move all the way to rori to find it.
So are the resource shifts logical or random?

The resource shifts are random. Also, "shift" may give you the wrong impression. Resources do NOT "move".
Basically, the system decides that it's time for a new spawn of carbonite steel for the whole Galaxy. It generates a name and a random set of stats for it. It randomly chooses to sprinkle it on "n" planets over the next few days. So it could "appear" on Naboo and Dantooine on Day 0 and then on Rori on Day 2.
Then time passes, and on Day 7 (for example), it goes away from Naboo. Day 8, it disappears on Dant. Maybe Day 10 it disappears on Rori.
If you are serious about mining resources, check out www.swgcraft.com (every day) and see what new has appeared and what old stuff has disappeared. That way you can put your harvesters down and leave them down for 6-10 days at a time.
I haven't found any stats on this, although I would think that the folks at swgcraft.com would do some "data mining" to give us some answers.
If something appears on a planetthen it is typically there for 6-10 days.
