I agree, make chests containers with a max of maybe 50 items...and maybe not make it count towards your item limit and make a max on the number in your house OR make it count toward your item limit...

1) Bothans are cool...(why im not one...just enslave em for vendors!)


2) I totally agree...it be uber if we had 2 Item Limits in structures...1 for Storage, 1 for Space....the storage being collective limit for Chests, Packs, Cabinets, etc...while Space being what the current item limit is.

Why don't Chests work? Same reason Armoires and Cabinets don't work. Same reason Data Terminals don't do anything. Same reason Ballot Box terminals don't work. Same reason we can only sit on Beds. Same reason Reclining Chairs don't recline. Same reason we have Style 1 plants, but can't make Style 2, Style 3, etc. Same reason we don't make anything that decays (except lamps and candles, but they stay lit even at 0 days, unless you pick them up). Same reason Ore Mining Units still come out singly in factories and not in crates. Same reason we can't change the color of furniture. Same reason Structure Factories take 2 lots, but all other factories take 1 lot. Same reason Structure Complexity tapes have no use. Same reason stations with High Functionality Rating don't work any better than Low Functionality Rating. Same reason Mediums houses take the same lots and hold the same items as Small houses. Same reason...


Sigh. Took me only two minutes to type all that. Makes me wonder how many more I could think of, given time.

Yea, its all SOE, that joke about “SOE Job Interview” if I remember right came here from EQ forums…
And about “Why are "Chests" not containers?” there is also many good thinks that don’t work. Like why data terminals don’t store data, why droid detection devises don’t detect droids and ets…
