Concepts & Ideas: Revamp of the Architect Profession

Suggestions:

-What I am about to list down below are ideas and concepts for the revamp of this profession. Ideas that could improve and expand the features of this profession.Reshaping the way we look at and play as an Architect in SWG. Giving Architect Players more purpose within the game. The main purpose of an Architect in SWG is to build structuresfor other players and themselves. The goal is to expand the context of this profession. Allow Architects to build moretypes of structures for many applications.

- Rightnow, the Architect Profession is very limited. A player who takes up this profession can only make so much. They'regiven a limited amount of schematics to work with. Only two styles of PA Guild Halls can be made by anArchitect.Their are only two types of house schematics and three different sizes. Some houses are limited to only specific planets. There is alsosix different types of harvestors used to dig up minerals, floral, water, chemical, gas, and power. Harvestors also come in three different sizes.Four different types of factories made for the crafting populations' need to mass produce commodities that players purchase and sell within the game. Furniture in all shapes, sizes and forms used to decorate your house.

- In Star Wars Galaxy, what you don't see in the game is the Architects making ApartmentSky-rises for player cities, laserturrets guarding a Rebellion installation on Yavin IV, orconstructing and programming thehouse terminal in your PA hall. You would think that certain certified or specialized Architects would be the people to look to inbuilding these things.

Ideas for the Revamp:

- List below is the following changes that should be taken placeto improve the profession:

  • Add the following additional trees ( 5 Trees specialized in a specific aspect of the profession )

    1. Furniture Designer Tree

    2. Building Architect Tree

    3. Economical Structure Tree

    5. Military Contractor Tree ( Optional for only GCW Factions ONLY )

- The following will be a description of the Architect Trees listed up above:

  • Furniture Designer Tree

    • This tree is a specialized tree in making house furniture, decorations, rugs, lamps, paintings, couches, etc... A master in this tree can construct and customize the different types of schematics in many ways. • Economical Structures Tree

    • These buildings are designed and build by Architects for economical needs. Here, Architects produces harvestors to dig up minerals, gas, chemicals, power, floral, and water in may shapes and sizes. Other structures like factories and mineral/product storage units are used to mass produce and store goods.

    • List of the following branches in this tree:

These structures cannot by any means be used with other structures in the Architect Trees. The architect is given schematics to produce base-like structures, schematics to build perameter walls, turrets of many forms and shapes, and other additional components needed for a top notch military base. They're the ones who build the blast doors to keep out un-wanted intruders, construct special radar systems throughs schematics, or install specialized security systems for the base's defense.

Very good ideas, though I doubt devs would opt for anything other than the traditional 4 trees.

I see how this would appeal to some...though it is neither feasible or possible. Why waste more skillpoints on things that can be added to the "existing" trees? It would be a massive waste of skillpoints...when it is more practical, effiecient, logic, and feasible to simply add structures and items to the existing trees, than come up with yet more wasted developer time on something that most players will think is a waste of dev resources...

Simply put, add gongs, etc, if the player base wants it, to the furn tree,...bases to the deed tree...etc...lets not make this a massively complicated and ultimate waste of time...

I like the ideas of new things we can construct, particularly GCW stuff. Let us spend our faction points on schematics to make them, rather than the "buy/purchase and plop it down" method. Of course, we should get a discounted price since we presumably are going to be putting a lot of metal and sub-components into it.

However, my reaction to the tree changes can be summed up in one question: "Where am I supposed to get the skill points for that? From dropping Merchant?"

My Reply to Rofak: Appreciate the complement about my idea. I agree with your reply merchant nerf job the Devs are cooking up.

My Reply to Agreatoldlie: I don't think it should be complex either and these ideas are based on the new Jedi Profession Trees. I wasn't actually completed with my post. The system would be similar to the JediProfession Treesand Force Ranking System, but for Architects only. Beside, if the Devs wanted to make it simple, why didn't they do the same thing for the Jedi Tree by keeping the old system.Another purpose of adding more treeswould be either to allow players to dabble in certain masters, or reach up to evengreater heights. They could possibly make all Profession trees that way by giving them 4 to 5 unique and focused aspects for the profession.

Lastnite I fell asleep on my keyboard. I clicked the submit post just when I realized i couldn't stay up for much longer. I apologizes if I didn't complete the post in full detail.

My Reply to Crimsonsplat: I totally agree with the idea of Architects being able to make GCW things for PVP purposes. To answer your first question, you could either dabble in the tree as a side trade, or you can spend your entire 250 skill points ( two masters and 2 branches in another tree ) on the entire Architect Tree, and possibly go up a similar Ranking system like the Force Ranking System for Jedis. From there, players could accumulate more modifiers to repair, crafting, etc... Even gain unique and rare schematics for special buildings that make your city unique compared to others. It's all strickly ideas and wishfull thinking. The Experience Points for the Architect Ranking System would be different compared to the Jedi Force Ranking System that's based on PVP XP. An Architect Ranking System would probaby have a system where you gain XP over time. As you grow older with the knowledge of the professions, you grow wiser...
