Thread: Anyone else having trouble making BER 13 tonight?

I made several factory schematics earlier. No problem, BER 14 Fusion, BER 13 heavy mineral; than i cam on about half hour ago and tried seven times to make a BER 13 Deep Crust. Nos when i loaded in I saw a small hotfix patch load.

I did not think much of it. But I hit 95% and got only a BER 12. I then went to my best resources. I should have had no problems what so ever making a BER 13. Instead I got 2 critical failures both of which I was able to experiment to BER 12 at 84%. But not even with these materials could I get it to go to BER 13.

Anyone else notice anything funny in thier crafting tonight?

the first thing to check on these is the tfdp you are using. It will no doubt be BER 6, but what % did you experiment it up to. In just about every case where this is reported (and there are many)this has been the problem. Are you in the habit of experimenting this unit up to above 90%, or do you normally stop when you reach BER 6?

It is almost exclusively the Deep Crust Chem that has this problem, so this is presumably more sensitive to the % rating on the unit.

I made about 10 harvs last night by hand, all 13s.

I used 2 different runs of TFDP and still had the problem. I experiment these up past 90%. A guild member also reported that she was getting great success and amazing success and the numbers went down not up. Thing is I made BER 13 Deep Crust with these materials the day before.

Post the *exact* resources and their stats that you are using in the final assembly.

Post the *exact* (if possible) quality of the mining component. If you give us the *exact* resources and their stats that you used in making the mining components, then we can calculate their rating.

Well thats obviously not how its supposed to work.

Could be a bug of some sort that nobody else has ran into.

Or could be they were mistaken or there is a miscommunication somewhere.

If you make new TFDP's over 90% and then get over 90% during the harvester final combine then you should get BER13. 90% is rough guideline might be 91%, I'm not sure off hand. Basically the average of the experiment rate in the TFDP and the final combine should be 90% range.

If you are using TFDP's that you made a while ago and think are 90% then maybe they just got mixed up with some other TFDP's. If they are older TFDP's are they labeled on them what the experiment % is or are you going from memory? If they are older ones and/or if its just memory then I'd really suggest making some new ones to check.

This is one reason I label ALL of my components very explicitly, and particularly I label the "mining components" with their final quality - that way I never wonder.

So I'll have:

"SSSM Abc 0817" (where "Abc" is the first part of the steel name, to make it easier to spot)

"OMU +97 0817" (where those were experimented to +97)

As Pawlin says, all it would take is one crate of TFDPU's that you made early in your career to get mixed in with your other stuff and you'd be making sub-standard harvesters and tearing your hair out.

Yes, I would recommend accurate labelling of the key components, I label mining units (tdfp, omu etc) Ore Mining Unit 94% 08/07 for example, and other components that are required as identicals (gen Turbines, SSSMs etc) as Small Structural Storage Module 08/08, I always put the date as well as the rating, where important, to ensure I use the right batch for factory runs.

This is the way I always thought it worked, but discussions on this forum had led me to believe this idea was incorrect. From what the CSR is saying it DOES go as I thought previously,

e.g. put 3 points in experimentation attempt, roll is reported as 'amazing', BUT roll 1 was crit, roll 2 was good, roll 3 was amazing.
Roll 3 being the last one seen is the one reported, but the actual result goes from (say) 26%, to 16% (crit), to 18% (good), to 24% (amazing), total effect is a drop. I think this needs to be explained in the In-Game Knowledge Base exactly how it works. If we still had the 19 Questions I would be tempted to ask there, but that was a short-lived flop.

How do we ask this ? Dvnce, can you flag it for us?

Ok. The problem is in the TFDP. I made those earlier in the day and they experimented up to 94%. But I got a critical failure followed by several amazing success. Since they were over 905 I figured they were ok. Today I made new ones with the same resources and no failures. Presto BER 13 again. So i used one of the older ones and got 94% final assembly but BER 12 again.

I destroyed the older TFDP.

Also our guild member has had the numbers go backward several times again.
