Thread: Non-Architect seeking information about various harvesters
I am most interested in hard data regarding power burn per time unit, maintainance burn per time unit, and extraction effectiveness compared to the basic harvesters. Any data you can provide will be very much appriciated, and may lead to business for one of you on Intrepid.
From what I know:
Basic Harvester:
Takes 1 lot
Costs 720 credits to maintenance a day
Takes 600 power to run for a day
From what I've heard:
Mediumand Large Harvesters:
Still only take 1 lot
Mediums are 2x each of the previous costs
Larges are 4x each of the previous costs
They mine 2x and 4x the ammount of goods as the previous mines.
Basically, this means that there is no cost benefit to running large harvesters, except that you can place a lot more and mine up to 4x your previous amount. This will be nice, since the larger the house you have, the fewer lots you have to devote to harvesters.
With the personal harvestors, i never re-deed. Its just too expensive. As an artisan i just make more. It only takes about 250 resources to make a mineral harvestor, yet it costs 1500 to re-deed. When resources shift, i destroy and make new ones.
My concern is that this is completely unpractical with the medium and large harvestors. at a cost of over 15,000 resources to make a medium harvestor, no one will be destroying these.
So does anyone know what the charge is to re-deed medium and large harvestors?
Rogue42, actually the costs for large harvesters are only 3x the basic personal harvester costs (power and maintenance). This, along with the 3.5x performance, make large harvesters the only harvester to be more efficient than the others.
There *is* a definite difference in cost for large harvesters
It just takes so much to actually make one that it's often a long while before someone moves from medium's to larges.
