1) Provided your home does not need repair (make sure you're paying maintenance), you can "destroy" your home which will reclaim the deed allowing you to place it again.
2) I'm not sure about furniture and other objects staying between re-deeding. I'd be hesitant to try it without confirmation.
3) Generic houses can be placed on any planet. Planet homes (Corellia, Naboo, and Tatooine) can only be placed on the planets they were designed for. Generic houses are nearly (if not exactly) identical to Corellian houses and are a bit ... bland.

Allow me to expand on TStorm's answers a bit.
Allow me to expand on TSTorms answers a bit.
Can you place them wherever you wish? No. First off, as mentioned, it needs to be a type of house usable on that planet. There are several planet specific house styles that are easier to make which only work on those planets. There are also generic houses you can put on any buildable planet.
Next, you have to be in a "buildable zone". You must be more than 1 Km from a city (well, it's roughly a Km.. it varies, it seems), the land should be *fairly* flat, not in water, and not on top of an existing structure.
If you wish to move your home, you do so by picking the "Destroy" option in the radial menu. Be warned... most all structures require some excess maintenance payment (beyond 100%) for you to get the deed back. The first time you hit "destroy", if you don't have enough maintenance paid up, it will say "Hit destroy again within 30 seconds to destroy the structure. You must have x credits paid in advance to reclaim your deed." If it says that, you don't have enough money in it to get the deed back. Take a look at your "status" and see how much you have paid in and figure out how much more to pay to get over that amount. Then wait MORE than thirty seconds and try it again. If it just says "Hit destroy again in less than 30 seconds" and doesn't mention money, then you have enough in and can hit destroy again and you'll get your deed. I say wait because there's a known bug where if you hit it once, put in the money and hit it again in less than 30 seconds, it can eat the deed.
Furniture and items in the house? We were discussing it in the merchant forums earlier this week. I still don't know anyone who's tried to to verify. But judging by how everything else in the structure system works, I wouldn't try it. Most likely they will be destroyed. If not, the items will probably go into the "Ghost world" where nobody but you can see them and you can't pick them up, use them or destroy them. To be safe, I'd empty the house before I moved it.

Thanx so much guys. I think now i'm gonna just set up a home in naboo, so i could pass it while sending off my bounty hunter probe droids. Guess u've gotta be careful with ur homes cause they cost so much and losing them would suck. The generic homes look really bad but i haven't seen the large one. Is being an architect any fun cause it seems really boring getting all those materials and i've got one more Q what happens if u don't pay mainence or can u store it in ur invitory not to pay mainence any more.

I can varify that anything left in your house when you re-deed it gets destroyed and is not salvagable.
