As you read keep in mind the RP in MMORPG.

Many many years ago the Miners across the galaxy dug tunnels and laid pipes across every planet in the galaxy. The minners felt it was simply to much work to carry their heavy harvesters from spot to spot knowing that by the time they got there chances are the area of highest concentration would be full of heavies and they would be forced to look futher for a nice spot to place.

They held a meeting in Theed where even the Emperor himself turned up because he was having trouble with the Rebellion and needed more ore extractedto build some big station that madeplanets go pfft.

Through the help of the local architects they designed an underground pipeline which would allow minners to leave their heavy harvesters near their homes and just take small remote drilling units which would dig through the ground and send the ore through the pipeline to the heavy harvesters hoppers.

However these remote drilling units ( RDU's ) had one problem. They could only be used once because the force used to drill into the ground would break the drill bit and so after that resource had gone they would have to destroy the current unit and BUY a REPLACEMENT. They could also hit the destoy RDU button from there data pad so as to not even have to go back to destroy them.

This kept architects employed for many a generation yet did not effect those strong of mind who still wished to cart their heavy harvesters from planet to planet and location to location. Not to mention having to do runs to them each day.

From the History of this unit we learn that it was the size and colour of current locked containers but seemed to have a flashing light much like the current fussion generaters. This made them great for placing in spots current small personal harvesters cant get to let alone heavies. You could even fit 10 of them in between two current heavy harvesters that were placed side by side and still have plenty of room to move around.

It has been a very long time since these units were used and many architects today have forgotten how to make them. However the pipelines are still there and can be seen in certain areas where you have long ditches where the soil has caved in to where some of these pipe lines went and the grass as nature does has reclaimed the area.

I think with a bit of DEVELOPEMENTAL education our current architects across the galaxy can be made skilled in making these units once more.

These units will solve many eye saw problems as well as residents of areas that are unlucky enough to have a rich resource spot appear under their house or pa hall only to find themselves and their sorrounding land full of harvesters the next day.

Bring back the old pipe lines takes us back to the days before the dark times of heavy harvester invassion.

Why would you want your house surrounded by heavy harvesters? Ick.

I think thats one of the points Im trying to make if a resource is around your house people have no problems putting heavy harvesters all around you. Now if we had these smaller units as mentioned above it wouldnt look so bad.
