Thread: Do we need Urban Planner and Mounts yet?
Well, it's nice that we're getting urban planner and mounts, but here's just a few things that you should fix before you move forward...
Wall modules in factories, elite laser carbine, burst shot 2, all food, all spices, stats, acid rifle animations, area effect broken, lack of accuracy on left hand weapons in commando tree, range modifiers on elite brawler weapons, stupid weapon requirements for elite weapons, armor doesn't work, encumberance totally messed up, wookie roar, wookies take too much damage with no resistances and cannot wear the broken armor anyway, heavy acid rifle modifiers stink as do the speed modifiers, mind incumberance on t-21 too high, elite brawler weapon incumberance too high, droid engineers have nothing to make, you can attack turrets from inside a house, /tip is bugged still, DX2 pistol doesn't work right, pistol armor piercing broken.....
Do I need to continue? You know I could, and for probably half a page. Why do you not fix these bugs? Are you THAT overworked? Or are your priorities just THAT messed up? I can't believe that you spend 95% of your time on new content, when a full 40% of the game does not work... Why is there not a patch every day? Why do you let stats stay bugged for over 2 weeks???
So, I say BIG FAT HAIRY WOOPTYDOO to Urban Planner and Mounts.... They'll probably be bugged anyway.
Why do I continue to spend $60 a month on this horrible game?
$15 x 4 = $60
Basic math......
And yes, urban planner comes under architect. Because they couldn't justify the excessive skill point cost of an elite-elite profession.

To the Devs:
Fixing bugs is very important. I think SOE thinks just like Microsoft has stated in the past that people don't want to pay for bug fixes. So they feel they must add new content to retain customers and attract new ones.So that people feel they are getting thier money's worth.
The one fact that gets lost sometimes tho is that the entire point of the game is to have fun. Problems such as Lewk has mentioned detract and make it difficult to enjoy the game. I know that I have been hit withmany bugs that have made me so frustrated I forgot whyI was playing. Lost houses... Lost Harvs.... Warping mobs with instant death...Profession nerfs.... but, as I told a good friend of mine, getting frustrated shows that you care about the game. Too much frustration tho andyou will lose customers.
I think one of main problemsyou face in making changes is the size of the game. Also the interdependance of professions. Look at the changes they were looking at making for CH. Limit people to one pet/and or droidand suddenly CH competes directly with DE whereas before they were complementary. Also BE suddenly has thier market cut drastically with the proposed changes.
If they make a quick change to try to fix the problem then it will have unexpected results.
Take too long testing and deploying and your users get so frustrated they vote with thier dollars.
What is a game company to do? Well you have made a good start with communication. Knowing why things are the way they are helps buy you precious time. Also some of the changes you make as a temporary fix is good. Such as when you messed up the factories and everyone almost went bald from ripping thier hair out. You made it where there was no cost on redeeding. Good move.Showed you saw the problem. And since you could not fix it immediately you made a fix to help ease the pain. Do this more. Make the game always less frustrating. If you can't solve the root problem make a change to help those effected.
It's not all sugar and nice tho. You have screwed up big time. You have to make sure how you phrase things. Think about it this way....
Players are investing the most precious thing in the world, thier time and not just a little of it. You have to spend quite abit of time to really accomplish things. So how they want to play is.... well how they want to play. Just because players are doing something you did not expectdoesn't mean they are wrong. It is up to them to decide how they wish to play, not you.
Be extremely careful what you refer to as an exploit. I'll give you an example. I like containers. Satchels, Cargo pockets and Backpacks. I put things in bags give them names and keep things organized. Now there was a bug that made it where you could store much more than you should by using alot of bags in backpacks. Well I stumbled into this bug thru using the intended purpose of the bag. Does that make me an exploiter? NO! Was it reffered to as an exploit? Yes it was. So what would I call a bag that allows me to hold more than YOU intended? Abag whose code was written by YOU? That would be a bug. Don't criminalize your playerbase by using what you have given them and calling them exploiters.Remember that not all of your players are out toget you. Some are just trying to have fun despitethe bugs we walk into.
Don't make the mistake that all of your userbase is the hard core players. If you set everything so that they advance slowly or have a difficult time accomplishing some goal, then those who spend less time have no chance. Now I'm not saying that a guy who spends an hour a week should be master in a month but, don't expect that everyone has 22 hours a day to play.
I actually took a bit of a break lately. I found I was getting too frustrated. So I play Jedi Academy. Great Fun! Way to short. You want to know themain reason I came back?
Lewk.
Because I had a made a friend in the game. It's the people in this game that make it worth playing. No matter how much SOE spends or what they put in it. Without people like Lewk playing it there is no reason to play.
A single player game is always going to be more dynamic. Have a more involved storyline. Be less problematic but, that's not why we are here. Here we have friends to interact with. Go on hunts, show the new thing we got off a CorSec.In short have fun with.
So remember that the people that are investing time in your creation just don't want to be frustrated. So fix those bugs. Tell us how you will fix them. Let us tell you what we think. You are doing this abit better as time goes on but, work harder at sharing information with us.
Playingthisgame and having funshould be everyone'smain goal.
Thank you and goodnight ![]()
Yeah, I think he got that part. The point of curiosity here is why would you pay for four accounts when you don't even seem to be having fun?!! No doubt it's for the extra lots but if you made the decision to turn this game into a job instead of just enjoying it for what it is, then that's a bigger issue foryou to deal with than SOE's bad programming. Good luck with it.

Child, your barking up the wrong tree, i pay $143 a year and you can double that in 5 months? There is no Urban Planner and why are you complaining about dx2 pistols?
Its all a conspiracy to blame everything that goes wrong on the architects.

BTW, Since I have see such a childish reaction from Lewk i can infer that he wanted this game released ASAP while others didnt care if they waited a year to have a smoothe game. Now the game is released, its bugged and the people who wanted it released ASAP are mad.
Well ghost, I hardly think it is childish to point out the flaws in the game that are ever present reminders that SOE seems to be getting ahead of themselves. I don't think that harsh words about critical flaws that have been with us for so long are a waste of time, nor do they fall on deaf ears. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, especially from these reactionary developers.
I agree with my secret admirer that there is a fine line between love and hate in this game. I have 4 accounts because I enjoy it very much, and have loads of fun playing it. You didn't see me posting this two weeks ago, when the bugs first started happening, you see me posting now after two weeks have passed and I think that their attentions are focused elsewhere.
I think you should go back to inference school.. I wasn't even aware that this game existed until a week after it was released. So from your comment, I can infer you are unhappy with paying for these bugs, just as I am. Especially the ones that don't seem to get fixed.
I rest my case.
