Thread: Best stats for Harvestor components?
I am about to make my first Medium harvestors. I have heard not much matters on them except the final combine and the mining units.
My question is, what is the max extraction rate for a mining unit? I read somewhere it is 4. That being the case, I played around with making one and hit that at 76%.
Once the mining unit it done, what kinds of stats should I look for to make a scematic? I made some turbines and I couldn;t experiment on them, much like the structure modules. Does the quality of the structure module or turbine matter?
When making walls, if the quality of the structure modules doesn't matter, does the final combine on a wall matter?
How about the storage structures? Does their quality matter?
OK, read another post and got most of my answers... still have 1 question though...
Does the % success on a OMU matter in the final combine or is it just the BER that matters on the OMU?
We don't know what is *really* going on under the covers, but it is clear that the displayed rate ("4") on the components (e.g. light ore mining unit) doesn't tell the whole story. Easiest way to think about it is that it could be 4.000001 or it could be 4.999999 and it would still read "4".
So - when you are making the schematic (or crafting the one-off) for components, you want to experiment it up as high as possible. The higher the component, the more leeway you'll have in the final assembly. I label all of mine with the final percentage I got - e.g., "+96%".

ZenDragon is correct. I found this out the hard way - made a crappy BER6 heavy harv mech and a good BER6 harv mech. Couldn't get BER13 Heavy Flora at 93% with the crappy HHM and best materials I had. With the uber HHM, I hit BER13 in the high 80% range with two experimentation points left over.
