Hi,

The last time i used a factory, you had to be right next to it to gain the crafting exp it generated.

Is this still the case? Or can you be in the med centre gaining exp whilst your factory churns out these things?

I don't think there is a proximity requirement for factories, but the 10% you get isn't very exciting to begin with

Given the limitations (10%, to the factory owner, if you are online and within X meters of the factory), a factory is a really lousy way to get XP. At the very least, it burns through 10X the resources to get the same xp as doing it by hand does. Even the dedicated holo-crafters might think twice about it if their cash outlay went up 10X.

When people ask me, I tell them that if they are still grinding up, then to use the factory only when they have to (e.g., because something *requires* some factory-identical part). Once you finish grinding then use the factory all of the time - mine is probably running 30-50% of the time.

Not sure if they changed or fixed this, but I found out that the owner of the factory is the one that gets the xp. Though I'm not sure how you'd be able to get the xp to the correct person since you can sell/trade schematics and anyone with admin rights to a factory could start/stop it and futz with the resources and the final products.
