Thread: Simultaneous price hike?
Well, given that we usually have 1-3 "pricing debate" threads on the front page here all the time I'm sure everyone will dive right in here. ![]()
Bottom line is that there a variety of ways to deliver value to customers and a variety of ways to compete - and you can have fun and make money using any of those business models. People choose whatever model they want, for whatever reasons they have. People can beat the drums to "raise prices" or to "lower prices" and call each other "price gougers" and "undercutters" all day long (and they do
) and it won't make any difference.
I focus on *my* value proposition and keeping my customers happy. I seem to have a way to do that and I'm having fun and making money. As an aside, my personal opinion is that people who base their pricing solely on "how much resources did it take" are not thinking at all about the delivered value to the customer. But if the guy down the street operates that way and has happy customers, more power to them.
I don't know whose genious idea it was to sell architect's items at 3-4 CPU, but nobody is making any real money from it. So I'm suggesting to everyone that we should change our prices and make money like any other profession does.
Why should we take the hit and let everyone else make money
People have no idea why I have to say no sometimes.
5 CPU at least for each unit of resource. AT LEAST

ok where to start .. how about just $tfu
i charge 3cpu for most things and i assure you i make plenty of profit. Just because you havent figured out how to do it doesnt mean the rest of the architects out there need to cheat their customers out of more money. So unless 2-3mil profit a week isnt what you consider "real money" then you just dont have a clue how to run your business.
second of all if we all sold at the same prices then where would the competition be? its not like we have variety in the stuff we make or quality in anything other than harvesters which people only whant the best anway. and that takes just as much work as the crappy ones so its not like we loose money on them(i dont anyway someone always buys even the crappy ones) if you think people are sellings things lower than they should be then just buy them and mark them up on your vendor. I do.
And who says we are taking a hit? I do soooo much less work than the local weapon/armor smiths i know, and i'm happy with my income vs. work level. So why again would i want to hike prices and possibly loose customers?
Also if A_Random_Architect said hey lets all jump off a bridge would you to do that too?
in short
get bent kthx info!~
