I'd like to get it out in the open first of all that I'm not an architect, nor have I ever thought about being one. A very good friend of mine is a master architect and he supplies me with pretty much whatever I need. I just wanted to toss out a few of the small annoyances that I see with the architects' products. All of these things are minor to say the least, but they are small grievances that have been left alone for far too long. Agree or disagree with me if you wish, but here goes;

1.) Lamps: For the love of all that is holy, can weplease have lamps that...oh I dunno...give off light?! I can't begin to tell you how much walking into a house full of torches kills the immersion factor for me, and most house interiors are far too dark not to have them.

2.) Containers: Armoires, Chests, etc...serve no purpose whatsoever other than to look nice. I want to be able to store all my tools in that toolchest, or my clothes in that armoire.

3.) Couches and Loveseats: Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't what sets these things apart from chairs the fact that they can seat multiple people? Its kind of annoying to have to buy 3 or 4 couches and strategically layer them over top of eachother just to create the illusion that multiple people are sitting on a couch.

4.) Structure or Wall Module?: Medium Minerals require 3 structure modules to build. Chemical, Flora, and Gas require 3 wall modules to build which makes them much more expensive. Can we get some

consistency please?

5.) House Item Storage: This one I'm not 100% sure on, but is the cap still 250 items regardless of lot space? Just seems kind of stupid to me that a medium, large, and PA Hall all have the same storage capacity. PA Halls generally accomodate 10+ people, but they can only hold 250 items? Something's not right there.

Thats all I've got right now, you may now commence berating me

Oh, one more thing...

6.) Vertical Item Placement: The devs said they were having trouble with this one because they didn't want people stacking things through the roof and not being able to retrieve them. So what? With that new retrieve lost items command in houses...what does it matter if they stack things too high? They can get them back with that command. My workshop would really look like a workshop if I could just place all my nicknacks, tools and random crap on my work bench, or maybe hang some things on the walls (aside from doing the stairs trick). There's obviously a Z axis in this game, so lets use it!

We now return you to your regularly scheduled rant post.

I got one, too. Spelling

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

Pardon me, knickknacks. Bite me. Overly critical people and people who act just plainstupid aretwo of mine too, but I was trying to keep it constructive and related to the game. Not just in general.

#1 Have your architect make the torches " Holographic Tiki Torch" or some such. That should help with your "immersion factor"..or...hit "L" and deal without light in your housing...or...some nice clamstack style city lamp posts will provide some fun colors for lights inside for half the game day at least. I agree it's annoying that the free standing lamps ( spiral neon lamp's) dont work...to me it's always seemed that if the gp module is what makes the "torch" create light...can't they just add the lamps needing and GP and we would be gtg? maybe too easy.

#2 Hell NO!!! They cause enuff problems for us with nested containers we can carry. I don't think I want to see the chaos the programmers could cause making all our chests workable. Besides it would probably somehow screw up the ability or the range of using all the "junk" furniture to create bigger better displays.

#3 There ARE easier...much easier and cheaper...ways of making multiple seating than having to buy the same couch and stack it over and over.

#4 Ok. We can make it alot more to scale in game. Architects: just raise the prices of medium minerals AS IF they required 3 walls like the other mediums. There, irritating discrepency fixed. See that was easy.

#5 Heh, not even I can argue with that one. Only argument I could think of is if anything could hold more than 250 items .....within a few days the servers would probably catch fire and collapse from the strain. Why you would want to make more work for Mr. Pebbles ( the hamster that supplies most of the power for sony servers ) I will never know. Perhaps it's a personal issue. What did Mr. Pebbles ever do to you??!!??

#6 That reaks of mathematical mumbo jumbo. To early here to deal with all that sorry.

Of course..you like so many other have missed the BIGGEST game breaking, immersivity killing, god awful annoying thing currently wrong with SWG.

WHERE THE HELL ARE ALL THE BATHROOMS/TOILETS??!!??

After 4 months I not only need a shower BADLY but I feel a hellacious pent-up dump coming on. Not worried about the bladder, that exploded a fewmonths ago.

Savage, I never once said that these things are game-breaking problems. In fact the subject itself should imply it all; pet peeves. As in minor things that just annoy the crap out of some people. Here is my response to what you had to say...

1.) Pretending the torches in my house are "holographic tiki torches" doesn't cut it. How many times did you see holographic tiki torches in the movies? Its a simple request, just make lamps that work. The streetlamps thing is an interesting idea, but you said it...they only work half the day. The personal light would suffice if it wasn't so blindingly washing.

2.) How would this be any different than having backpacks in your house to use as storage? It wouldn't. Right now most furniture is there to look pretty and not actually serve the function they are built to serve. Its not some kind of nested container crap. Its just giving "containers" the ability to.....contain things.

3.) I shouldn't have to learn a secret handshake, pray to some pagan gods and sacrifice a smallanimal just to not give some one a lap dance every time I go to sit on a couch. Its that simple.

4.) Frankly I don't really care about the price. If you wanna raise the price I'm not gonna argue, just pointing out an inconsistency that fits the scheme of being something minor, yet annoying.

5.) Mr. Pebbles peed in my shoe

6.) Sure its mathmatical mumbo jumbo, but then again so is /rotatefurniture and /movefurniture. How much more difficult could it be to add a /elevatefurniture command now that it wouldn't cause any harm since we can retrieve items lost in walls (and ceilings) with a housing command. Now that I think of it...how is losing items in ceilings and floors any different than losing them in walls?

Finally, if you need to go number two, just do what I do. Find an Imperial structure or terminal and let loose. Or go in those cargo pockets I keep friggin' looting off of every last **edit** NPC I kill. Or hey...if toolchests and armoires actually stored things you could just go in those, eh? Now toilet paper? Thats a different story all together. Since this game leans so harshly towards the Rhydin/EQ/D&D crap you just need to scoot on the grass or find some leaves, medievil style...
