I'm just wondering what is the highest BER for a fusion-ion generator? I got one last month that is BER 13 and I bought one about 5-6 months ago with BER 28. What makes the huge BER difference between these two?

a few months ago the devs locked the fusions at 14. why.. i never heard why, maybe waste more of our lots i guess to slow us down.....

14 BER is the highest possible assuming good materials and experimentation results. It is possible for them to come in lower if you have experimentation failures or use horrible materials.

Dangit DEVS! Why do they have to make life so difficult? Oh well...i guess I better take care of my BER 28

People pay INSANE prices for these, without bothering to do the math like Pawlin just did. Sure, I'd like to get a fleet of those old 28s, but I'm not going to spend millions on each one, it's just nuts.

For some people 10 million is a small price to pay to gain a lot. 2 BER 14 = 1 BER 28

... hit reply too soon. Your calculations Pawlin fail to reflect the addition of an extra lot which could be used to mine good link-steel aluminum, good steel, many things you could sell at much greater rates than radioactive.

Good point Astronaut. But if more lots is the goal then why not just rent them? 10M will rent a bunch of lots for a very long time. Course it is more hassle to rent lots and you have to depend on someone else. Like I said 10M might be worth it to someone. And someone else pointed out that lots of people have more money than they know what to do with.
Or better yet if you just want to free up a lot then stop mining your own fusion, buy your power on the open market and then you get that lot back to use for your harvesters. You ought to be able to get 5Mof radio for 10M. Even if you have to make a trip to pick it up then thats no more work than finding fusion spots and maintaining a fusion generator. 5M of power will last a LONG time. Thats about 500 days worth of output from a BER14.

A BER 28 fusion will give an extra 20k of radio on a 100% density over the output of a BER14. Now depending on the price of energy in your market I'd say that you could recoupe 10M investment in 8 months to 1.5 years. Thats a long time. I think theres investments with a lot better returns in this gamefor a 10M investment. But I guess it might be worth that much to someone.
