Greetings

I know that you answered this in your Faq, saying that you can not place things in Furniture, but is there any future plans of placing items in Furniture. I know that everyone in the community is torn between wanting to place furniture for aesthetics or not placing to save for more important items.

Right now, about half the design decisions made by the devs are made in order to keep database size under control. With that in mind, I think it's highly unlikely that they will institute anything that would lead to a dramatic DB size increase, like architect items that could store things without it counting against the item limit. Remember, the item limit doesn't exist for gameplay purposes, it exists to keep the DB size under control.

The only sugestion I've seen made for increased storagethat is at all likely to be accepted by the devs is for a basement addtion to a house that would take up one lot and therefore give 75 additional storage slots. It's unknown if the devs are even aware of this idea though.

Its on our wishlist. However we haven't had any direct communications from the DEVs in say about 4 months.

I think its pretty doable though and doesn't have to increase house inventory limits. Just make a chest or whatever containers like the backpacks that we all use right now in houses for storage.

I agree, I'd like to see that, and it is doable, but it's not what most people mean when they talk about items that can store things. They mean the ability to store things beyond the item cap. I'm pretty sure that's what the original poster was talking about based on what he said about making a choice between aesthetics and necessary storage.

True, it does kind of sound like it from that.

I want all the items that are placed in the furniture to be counted as part of the item list. What i meant about item count was that currently furniture is worthless to me besides the aesthetic value and with teh item count enforced (and yes I do uinderstand that everything is kept server side) there are mor importants things to be stored then furniture that does nothing.

I am just aksing for what most of you guys want, to let us replace the use of backpacks with Amoires and Cabinets. The DEV's idea of value is all wrong. Useage value should be above aesthetics anyday.

Well, yeah, if that's what you're asking for, then I agree 100%. It should be implemented, and it shouldn't really be that hard to implement. I get tired of all my packs hanging up everywhere, I'd much rather use a chest or armoire.
