The small round glass table makes a nice display shelf. with the curved leg, it looks like you have it attached to a wall.

Another suggestion is to use several of the brown cabinates. They make a nice display stand higher on the wall if you push them into the wall a bit.

The pic of the storage module would work for some stuff (quite well), but I also need larger shelves on the ground.

There's a built-in large shelf on the ground already. It's called a floor.

Well if you have any small things I tend to use swordcores (2 for a shelf since 1 is just a tad too skinny) or you can layer small tables (just about any end table really but the round black one is quit nice) to produce a series of shelves for short objects. The nice thing about the sword cores is that it won't have a wall separating it like the storage module so it is less obvious where they end and start, only thing is it'll take a lot more item space if you want a good number of them.

I think droid storage modules work well for wall shelves too.
