I'm new to the profession and new to the architect forum. At the moment I have just one question. Do you think the architect profession is significantly hindered by the fact that players don't actually *need* a housenordo theyget any significant perks for having one?

Actually houses make good storage facilities. Sure you have a safety deposit box at the bank, but even that is limited to how many items you have.

Plus if your going to be a weaponsmith/armorsmith/tailor/whatever sells stuff, you need a house in order to have a vendor.

Yeah, as an artisan, you absolutely need a house. They're invaluable as both storage of excess materials and products and as a station for vendors. For most combat-oriented players, however, houses are not much more than bragging rights.
