They are trying to correct their poor design decisions. But, they don't have accurate data to know what is a bad decision and what isn't because the game has never really worked correctly. They had to end the beta test prematurely and now are just in "reaction" mode trying to make the content last as long as it can so people don't run out of things to do and quit before they can put more content in. Basically, it's a scramble to slow everyone down.

Tonight when I logged in I was anxious to see what was included in this "blown out of proportion" patch that was scheduled for today. The first thing I noticed was that the signs that usually hung out in the center of the street in our gimp player city, were all located on the side of the house where they belong instead of the hovering out in limbo like a few of them were doing. "Cool", I thought. Still anxious to see what new things lay instore for me I ran to my crafting machines to see what wonderfull new things may have been added for ourprofession, (Yes I know the patch didn't mention anything about Architects getting anything but wishfull thinking never hurt.) All I see is 2 new little products under the Artisan tab: Bundle of Fireworks and Creature Habitate. I didn't even bother waisting the materials to create the Bundle of Fireworks, doesn't take a Droid Engineer to figure out what that one does, so I start putting together a Creature Habitat yet I don't seem to have any live creature samples. (Buddy walks in) "Hey Apoch, any idea what these are for?" and he hands me a jar of butterflies, which just happens to be the item I need. So I craft the little gizmo up, it's completed in 3 seconds, and I have a shiny new container looking object in my inventory with the option to release the creatures. Now maybe I was expecting a tiger to fall out, or maybe like the old barrel of monkeys where little red monkeys would come out all hooked together, I dunno, but I almost fell out of my chair when about 50 little butterflies flew outof me, floated to the top of my ceiling and disappeared. I'm in a way both shocked and just a tiny bit scared at the sight of this. Here architects are complaining that a loveseat and a large couch can only be seated by one person, a bed is just as usefull as a bookcase is, (and for that matter has anyone noticed the size of the large bed looks about big enough to sleep 1 ewok comfortably? Proportions:BIG SMALL, we learned this stuff on Sesame Street guys, remember?) I have furniture 4 and I am constantly asked "Can you change the color of any of this stuff?" and I have to lower my head and reply "No, but I hear if you angle a "Small Potted Plant (Style 1) just the right way it almost blends the 1970's orange couch and the purple and green devon perfectly." Why is there a (Style 1) on any of the plants? there is no (Style 2)created by any level of architect that would give reason to indicate a difference? I did notice they fixed the admin privledges on the houses which is a good thing I think. What scares me about this kind of absolute garbage being added to the game is 1, after the novelty wears off and people stop going "What the **** was that?", it's just waisted space making the game take up that much more of my hard drive, 2 there are REAL problems in this game still that need addressing and someone thought it would be comical to add "Can-O-Butterfly" to my datapad. In a way it also kinda makes me angry (if you couldn't tell) simply because it shows that someone isn't taking our class very seriously. If I wanted to pull butterflies out of thin air or launch my own spectacular fireworks display, I probably would have chosen the Entertainer class instead of the Artisan path that I did. I'm sure that artisans server-wide are hysterical about being able to make a can of butterflies, but come on guys lets use our noggins here a bit, most people that choose the artisan profession, do so with the intent of blowing through it as quickly as possible to get to the real profession that they want to become. I do like the addition of the survey missions, I now have a way to makesome credits on my own without either burdening my fighter friends or burning up a notepad trying to figure out how many resources were used in Item A, multiply that times the theory of evolution, divide by 3, add in the cost of a solar generator's maintenance on a 3rd Wednesday when there's a full moon, and "You owe me 500 credits for the 1970's orange couch." I just think time spent adding this junk could have been devoted towards something a bit more productive.
