It's going to be months for the economic dust to settle now that the Devs dropped mission payouts by 50%. Good luck trying to sell your products at the asking price a week ago.

I think it is great that they lowered the amount of money coming in, now they need to increase the money going out. There are way to many people with tons of money this early in the game.

Yeah im really glad too. Now that players will have no money and will have to work forever to get the money for that gun or armor they want. By then the last thing they will want to do is more missions to buy a house that is only a tad bit bigger then travel pack and doesnt really have any purpose in the game anyway. Im sure as Arch i buisness will be booming for houses that cant hold anything and furniture that wont fit in them anyway. I must agree great patch.

PS If SOE thinks im gonna go do gnort missions for 600 credits they are either drunk or stupid. If my sales wont cover my costs when i hit zero credits SOE will get zero too. I ll cancel. Not a threat just im not going to pay them to do gnort missions only to make products that i cant sell.

lowering the rate at which money is gained through missions was a good thing my fellow architects. It means that while we may not be able to sell our wares at the listed prices, the economy should stabalize enough to actually start to look normal. It was really never their intent to make us rich, or to make us pay out the wah for something like houses, and harvesters, or even guns. Hopefully this will impact the mined materials as well, causing a downshift in their cost to better accomodate the costs....However, i am a little frightened by the fact that harvesters are still using the same credit system cost...

Cossich hit the nail on the head.. i have enough financial depth for 5 days.. if sales dont start happening by then.. i have no choice at all.. im packing up the harvesters and surrendering master and going combat. AS master art master arch i cannot specialize in a combat trade so im limited to gnorts... there isnt enough time in my day to support my harvesters with missions now and i cant take advantage of the new higher level payouts (once again Sony allows the rich to get richer) so.. not really bitching about it.. more resigned at this point.. logged on to find a string of email cancellations from people who cant afford their orders anymore. If this is whbat they want.. /shrug

Piffle! Do survey missions if you need money. They pay nearly twice as much as combat missions and takethe same amount of time toaccomplish. (and in some cases less)

The real problem in the economy for us crafters is that the trickle down is not efficient enough. There are not enough disposables beside weapons and armor to move that money from the over inflated bank accounts of the combat class to the constantly depleting bank accounts of the crafting class. The problem IMO is efficiency in the economy, not the over supply.

People worried so much about inflation. I have seen nothing since release to indicate there is an inflation in play despite the claimed huge money supply.

Inflation means goods cost _more_ not _less_ as is the general trend. What we had in fact was deflation on a grand scale where goods drop in price not increase. Deflation is very bad for an economy whereas a little inflation is good.

What the devs needed to do was drain the pockets of the combat types by increasing the amount of goods they need to consume to play effectively. Goods produced by us crafters. In the case of architects we also service the crafting class so in some ways we are even farther down the tree.

More disposables would help move the money into the crafters banks and finally into the bit bucket we call harvesters and factories. The increase in decay rate of weapons helps, but not enough of us. The DE who also now have a disposable to sell have been too nerfe probably to make use of it.

All around not a lot of good news for crafters for the time being but the factory crate change will help.

Think again, people are already doing 15K+ missions now, better than Baz Nitches, and some even doable in the same way (kill the lair, die, repeat).

What *will* effect Architect income is the uselessness of Large houses now.
Why they cannot up the max to 450 is beyond me.

<rant>

Don't forget the uselessness of furniture

So that makes Architects have 2, count them, 2 usless skill trees to climb to become a master.

1. The Construction tree - the absolute most useless skill point sink ever in the history of useless skill trees, no other profession has a skill tree that actually does absolutely nothing such as this one. (didn't they remove miner as a profession because they couldn't think of things to fill the skill trees with, yet they let this pig through?)

2. The Furniture tree - Who the heck is going to buy furniture when all it does is take up valuable space in an ever shrinking storage allotment in houses.

And it makes Houses become even more devalued, imagine all the thousands of resources you poured into the large house, and no-one is going to buy it when they can buy 3 small houses (same lot usage) and get more storage space than from the large house. This is not going to fix the problem DEVs

I am going to have to seriously think about whether architect is going to have any fun or playability or profitabilityleft in it after they finish these nerfs to storage limits. (and they ARE nerfs)

The architects tenuous usefullness is on the verge of destruction.

Who in their right mind, apart from some heavy masochists, is going to stick with architect long enough to start up City Planner when Player Cities are rolled out?

Heck, what kinda nerfs are planned for then when player cities and mounts and vehicles come out? Think of all the new content, all the new things to own, think of how much more stress this is going to put on the excel spreadsheet the DEVs are trying to pass off as an oracle database. Who thinks the DEVs will nerf the storage space per player even more when these 'expansions' are rolled out.

Please Oh Please DEVS, THINK before you make these changes, what you think now will help your spreadsh.. database issues has wide ranging impacts on every player, but more than just that it makes an entire ELITE profession virtually useless/undesirable/unplayable.

Is this a case of the left hand and right hand not communicating? or is the head just an idiot? or is the wallet the one we should all be blaming?

I have such hopes for this game, I have spentalot oftime on this game, during beta and now through live. Fix yes, Nerf only when absolutely necessary, Break NEVER!

The new mission payouts are a GOOD thing.

This is the first real step the devs have taken to stabilize/balance out the economy, ... and if you think that prices for goods yesterday are going to be the same next week, you're sorely mistaken. First of all, people's paychecks from running missions are smaller, therefore they have less money to spend, ... therefore artisans cannot charge up the woohaa for their products. Goodness, the prices the crafters have been getting away with (except the architects which have been WAY low) the past month have been absolutely ridiculous.

A profit of 15-20% is normal. Weaponscrafters and armorsmiths have been charging for a 200-300% profit, ... some even more!

There's a reason why many, many crafters are now multimillionaires only a little over a month into the game: It's not because they're powergamers who powergrinded their way to the top. It's because they've been taking advantage ofa flawedeconomic system that dumped too much money into the system everyday.

Frankly,I wouldn't mind if the devsdid a total wipe of all the servers and made everyone start over from scratch. That way theeconomic system will truly be balanced.

The moment another server opens up I'mjumping ship and starting overand playing with people who didn't cheese their way to the top.

As well that this might somewhat fix economy but onthe other hand, those whowe're filthy rich are even more so now and can take advantage of it. Also i have to remind you that mineral cost will go up as well if people aren't stupid cause it takes more time to upkeep harvesters etc. So I'm not expecting to see prices drop that dramatically right away. As for profit margin... 25-30%... in real world this aint much in swg that would lower armor/weapon prices but we will see what happens. So in that sense lowering mission reward wasnt so great idea, introducing money sink holes would have.

The fact that you all know what gnort missions are should tell you why they were nerfed. They were an exploit, a mission that was buggy by being unfairly lucritive and easy. That was a good nerf. Then everyone moved to Endor abusing those poor cats that ran like snails. And they all screamed THIEF when those were fixed. Now everyone is where? Dantoonie? What is the latest quest exploit everyone is on?

All the changes to missions have been reasonable. In my opinion, they should have been done in beta, but we all know that story. Just realize you are all living the tail-end of the beta and the game is getting repaired underneath you. Too late for the expectations of many of you, because you are already used to it the way it is: buggy.

Well, it will stabilize, most of you will write "im going to be a BH" posts and leave, and those of us that do architecture because we enjoy it will still (still) be making a decent living because we will have adapted. I have been reading how horrible architecture is ever week since release. I'm making money. Why aren't you?

LOL I will never be the Arch corespondant, because I have so little patience for all this WHINING. How Zarcath puts up with this I can't figure out.

This patch is one of the best things to happen to architecture since beta 3 and you are all so myopic to the problems that you can't see it. Well, this too is normal.

...

It is natural selection. The weak die out.
