I have Business III so I can just get the basic vendor. I read in a thread that there is a difference between a regular vendor and an NPC vendor. What is the difference ? I only have 1 vendor I can create in my house so I do not understand. Also some thread said that the rate was "1cr". I have my vendor stocked with about 20K in furniture and the rate is 30, almost double my medium house. How can I get the rate down to 1 ?

Automated vendors are the terminal looking things you get with business 3, you can get a smaller looking terminal at business 4. To get NPC vendors, people, you have to be a merchant and get hiring 1.

To get your vendor maintenance down, don't have all your inventory for sale at once. Pull some back put it in the storeroom and then move things to sale as they sell. Or go get merchant, I have heard that NPC vendors rates are not affected by the dollar amount you have for sale.
