Thread: Any Other Arch's Hanging it up yet?
Well since the "wonder" patch of yesterday my vendor has sold a WHOPPING 00000 items. Thats right zilch. I have customers as i sell stim packs (helped out a medic friend for goods for factory) (which no longer workes btw)
Logged on this am and serviced the harvs paid 14k in maintence. So by my math ill be broke in about a week or so. Anyone have any idea what profession is still worth my time? From what ive read smuggler is the only one thats not bugged to all get out?
The only other master architect down in my area of the wilderness (and the guy I apprenticed under for all my training) hung it up and sold back every one of his archi skill points. Going to be a doctor I hear. :-(.
Makes me kind of sad.
Yeah ive thought about becoming a Dr and keeping my house for a Med Center but ive read with the med-large Flora Farms being bugged it hard even to be that.
Im just really starting to wonder if this game is for me. I like the idea of it and it really is a cool game, but its soooo bugged to the point most professions arent even playable and all the patches seem to do as much harm as good. I
Id really like to know if i cancel my account and come back in 6 months or so (after all the bugs are worked out) If u be able to access my same players but when ive asked my post has been locked or removed. I guess they dont want others to get the same idea.
I actually started dropping skills yesterday to free them up for master merchant.. when player cities come out, I will drop some merchant skills for city planner.. I am doing good on money, but I made quite a bit in the last 3 weeks.. I anticipate sales to drop, just because there arent gonna be 2 week old fighters out there making 1 mil a day running baz nitch missions.. I earned my money working 8 hours per day since day one, and some fighter with 2 weeks xp can go and make a million in a couple hours..? I am glad they nerfed that.. who cares about making money if it is worthless? My harvesters are still costing me about 50k per day and the last resource shift put me at 18% solar, and no higher than 30% on any mineral until I move them all.. I will be OK though.. I have confidence..
This is the time that a good customer service oriented business person will be making money, as the economy is in for a helluva twist. Those of us that took care of our customers, charged reasonable rates without dropping our pants, came through for PA's with big orders in the time frame offered, and helped out customers with this that and the other, will not be losing much business. Those of us that raised our prices so that we could pick and choose the jobs, slacked off, failed to deliver orders in time, and generally just ignored our customers will find that with less customers available, sales will drop terribly. Sorry to hear that..
I have put my house building on hold. I haven’t setup my ore harvesters and I won’t until I have some orders to fill. I have about 14k ore which should be good for at least 1 or 2 houses.
Now I’m trying to pick a second job I have a friend who’s going for BE and one who’s DE. So I’m thinking about armor smith, tailor, weapon smith and chef. Now chef and tailor can use the BE components. Armor smith needs tailor made cloth. And there are lots of weapon smiths is there any one still buying guns?
So where should I go, And should I consider the new civic builder thing coming?
With the many issues we have with our beloved profession, I am asking everyone to please refer to my main thread:

Guys,
I'll be the first one to agree there are a lot of issues that need addressing with the Architect profession, butI don't understand how people are actually losing money. I can make about 1 large house a day or maybe a tad more with the harvestors I have placed.
On the flip side, I can sell just some of my resources each day to make a large profit. At 150k, that leaves me with enough maint to pay for my 5 solars, 15 medium, and 30 small harvestors for 4-5 days. On top of that, I sell about 10 items of furniture or more on the bazaar each day.
So 2 larges a week, I can make a profit, AND keep collecting materials in the mean time. So many people placing orders, I can't even keep up and I have to turn people away. Many many customers have decided not to order from me with my current pricing, but I also do many sales, becauseI can usually make whatever someone wants and get it to them that same night.
My prices are pretty much at the same level as a lot of you out there, maybe even lower. I know there are some people selling really cheap on my server, because I have purchased structures from them myself (harvestors and what not).

So what's the problem?
I've been busy with a current order of 30 medium generic houses, so I haven't had the need to go find more business. Of matter of fact, I changed my title from Master Architect to Businessman just so I don't get a bunch of tells asking for prices and stuff.
