I have been banging my head against a wall trying to make identical power cores so that I can finaly put together some PA halls. My factory eats all the ingredients no matter how many I try to make. Then it bugs my factory so that it eats all the ingredients for everything I try to make. Only fix is to redeed the factory and place again.

I have no problem making identical wall modules for all the heavy havestors and fusion gens that I need to make. I understand why they changed the walls, so that novices can gain normal exp while crafting higher end items. So why cant they change power cores to similar too, atleast until they fix the bug that is stoping me and countless others from being able to make the only structure I worked so hard to become a master for.

well if you were on Ahazi would sell you some crates of Powercores, 4 in a crate 80k.

You need 2 identical power core units from a factory crate.

What are the ingredients:

  • 75 Steel

  • 450 Non-Ferrous Metal

  • 280 Carbonate Ore

  • 120 Low-Grade Ore

  • 1 Generator Turbine

  • 1 Power Conditioner

  • 1 Energy Distributor

Since you need to create this in a factory, that means everything needs to be identical, even the Generator Turbine, Power Conditioner and Energy Distributor. This means that these 3 items need to be made in a factory. The Generator Turbine needs to be made in a Structure Factory and the Power Conditioner and Energy Distributor needs to be made in an Equipment Factory.

Hope this helps.

Put in enough resources for a run of 20 power cores. You will get about 14 back.

I think this is incorrect. If you use manually crafted components, then the final schematic should take any components whether from a factory or not. However, if you use components from a crate, then the resulting schematic will require identical items to what you first used.

And what do you mean we now have similar wall modules in schematics? Which schematics changed?

Actually, if you use hand-crafted components--you're screwed. The reason is because a schematic will only work when the components have the exact same serial numbers as those used in the creation of the schematic. Since the only way to get items with the same serial number is to make them in a factory, you need to do that to make the other schematic work. I learned this lesson the HARD way on power cores. I also learned that you're better off making the schematic for more units than you really need to create the subcomponents. Why? What happens if you make the schematic for exactly 110 struture modules (to make a wall module schematic plus enough for 10 wall modules) but you suffer a crit failure when you try to make the schematic for the wall module? Doh! Now you've got to start all over since you'll only have enough identical structure modules for 9 walls. At least you could use them for another project.
