I am a new Master Architect. I have started making harvs and I can experiment Extraction on Minerals and get it up to 13. However, I tried making my first fusion today. I get an extract rate of 13 on combine. BUT, I can only experiment on Storage size? Is this intended or a bug? If it is intended how do I get 14's on fusions? my OMU is fully experimented on. I don't get it...Is 13 the new standard on all fusions?

You must experiment as high as you can on the OMU. This is where the BER 14 will come from. When making the extracter itself the only thing you can experiment on is the Storage size.

It was fully experimented on and came out as a 6 extract OMU....is that not good enough? Better materials on the OMU?

Even coming out as a 6 extract OMU you still need to experiment on it to get it as high as you can. 90% or better. Use all you experiment bar's on this unit is a must.

Last night I made 15 Fusions and the OPU was 6 and experimented to 95%.
On the first Fusion I used Iron with a UT of 897 and came out with BER 13, on the rest I used Steel with UT of 950 and came out with BER 14.
Make sure SR/HR/UT are over 925.
Hope this helps

Ok...tried it again and with new OMU's and it came out 14...Do we know why we can experiment BER minerals but not fusions? Are chems and waters like minerals or like fusions? I hope they are like minerals because i have a factory run of OMU's that won't produce 14 fusions. If the rest are like fusions I guess I'll just use them all for Minerals.

Fusions and solars are the only extractor types that we currently can't experiment on. Over a year ago we could experiment on them but then it got bugged or was removed. SOE has never commented on it.
But OMU's do need to be high experiment results for heavy minerals too. So if its BER6 but the experiment is not in the 90% range then it might be hard to get max BER on minerals using those OMUs.

Yeah, I have hit 13 on Heavies with them without issue. It was weird because when I hand crafted the OMU for the fusion, I used the exact same materials as the factory run and fully experimented it just like the factory run. BUT, unlike the factory run when I used it in the final combine (along with the exact same materials as before) it came out 14. Strange...Oh well, I'll just hand craft the OMU's for fusions and use the factory run for Minerals...

Im currently using OMU's at 95% and resources with HR,SR and UT above 900 on the final assembly.
No problem getting to BER14 there
I once had a critical failture when experimenting on the hopper size on a BER14,
After failturethe BER went down to 13 and it didnt work to experiment it with hopper exerimentation up to 14although i had 4 more experiment points to use. Didnt expect the hopper experimentation to affect the BER. Has this happend to anybody else?

i had a problem a few months back where i could not get the fusion past BER 13 and i was using the same minerals as i used the last i created BER14. me and a friend check a few things out and we started testing different parts that where mine and then his. and we found out that the OMU was bugged. i created more and it worked fine after that. sometimes they get bugged is my guess.
