I made a schematic a loooong time ago for ber7 OMU. I rarely make harvs these days, but my harv collection is getting small due to loaning and giving them out to Guildies, so I was going to make another batch of OMU. I got them to 97% and only got to ber6. I am beginning to think I made the last schematic on the single crafting "magic day" oh so long ago. So, I ask the following Q's...
What % experimentation is needed for ber7 OMU?
Are ber7 OMU needed to get to ber13 heavies?
If not, what is the minimum OMU rating, assuming I use good steel and Ore for the final combine?
Thanks for the help!

BER7 was only possible for one day on temporary tuesday. If you have an old schematic you can still use it, but once the schematic or resources runs out then thats it.
YOu can make a BER13 harvester with a BER6 mining part but you still want to experiment it up as high as possible like in teh 90%+ range.

Thanks P! I figure 97% should be good enough, heheh. DO you know what the threshold is maybe? WHat is the minimum % I need to be able to get ber13? I only ask because I dont wanna waste top-end resources if I can achieve the same result with slightly less good resources.

hmm ..
i have made some OMU they been 90%.
and when i made an harvys with thoose. it cam out 25% eff.. without experiment.
i did experiment it up to around.. if i remeber correct 83-85% and gotten ber13. with 3point left (12pt arch) no amazing. only great success all the time.
might be wrong here. but think its under 87% on finished product with ber13 and 120k hooper.
gonna go check this though..

97% on the OMU is plenty good to hit max BER.
The BER rating is based on a combination of the % experiment result for the mining component plus the % experiment result in the final combine. I think the cut off was found to be about 176% total.
So if your % for the OMU + the % in final combine > 176% then you should hit max BER.
As example: you could use an OMU with 97% and then should be able to hit max BER with just 80% or so on the final combine. Or if you had an OMU of 90% then you'd need closer to 87% during final combine.
Course the 176% is the break even point and that leaves you no margin and I don't know how exact that number really is. Probably best to shoot for 180% total minimum to be safer.

ber 6 are max on omu..
if they are 90% or better you will get ber 13 harvesters
