Thread: Looking at the numbers...

The Architect forum has more posts than Armorsmith and Weaponsmith combined.

Only two other professions have more posts than the Architect forum (Bounty Hunter and Creature Handler, Jedi isn't a "profession" in my opinion).

Everyone knows that BH and CH have had and continue to have issues and that would explain the large numbers of posts on those forums, yet here we are, still largely ignored by the development team.

It wouldn't take me long, as an employee of SOE, to look at the number of posts on the Professions page to understand that the amount of activity of 4 or 5 forums probably equates to a lot of gameplay issues.

I might even actually read a few of the posts, even off of just page one, at any given time to "get a feel" for the mood of that particular profession's players. I might find something useful.

How very annoying to have the only "official" posts here either be someone locking a thread because we hurt their corporate feelings or to announce some really fun event that no one is interested in.

The numbers are there, it's readily apparent where some attention needs to be focused, yet here we are, closing in on two months with hardly an utterance to our concerns.

The numbers add up to this: SOE's largest failure is their utter inability/unwillingness to communicate.

The numbers are only a factor if you consider every post to be a whine or a complaint.

The fact we have so many posts may also be a sign that there are so many more people in this field, and if not more in numbers then certainly we are more vocal. Power crafters like architecture.. It makes us rich. We are greedy, so we want more info and more attention to our craft. I'm very rich, bugs and all. Why complain when I can make 30K on a house sale and a chef makes ummm, 1K if lucky enough to find a buyer?

Besides, if you took away the posts that argue about how much things should cost we'd probably end up with a much smaller number of postings.. Similar reason why BH and CH have so many posts.. All the in-fighting is freaking hilarious. I am not either of those, but I go to their forums for a good chuckle.. Wish I had a dollar for every time someone used the word nerf.. lol

Reread your post, and see if there is any reason they would WANT to answer you with your approach. Get real, a lot of this we bring on ourselves with BS stuff like "fix it or else", or "devs are lazy", or "you locked a thread because your corporate feelings are hurt", or "can't you see it's all about me you stupid devs? me me me me meeee.... Whaaaaa "

If I were a dev, I'd say screw you to people that only bitch and cancel their accounts. They obviously aren't happy anyway. It would be doing both sides a favor.

Personally, I find it refreshing every time an architect whines, complains, and hopefully is telling the truth that they are quitting. Less competition. Maybe they could let me know ahead of time so I can craft a screen door that can smack them in the @ss as they leave.. That would be a cool addition. LOL, screen doors.. And every time someone bitches a dev could put the screen door on that players house as a sign to not let it hit you in the hiney on your way out. LOL

bah, I'm remembering why I don't come to these boards often any more.. Especially when summer vacation is still on and the kids are out of school..
