Thread: Harvestors and MOBS ?
One thing I noticed with the patch for those who do alot of mining is the increasedMOB spawns and elevated MOB difficulty - at least in the areas where I put MY harvestors. Especially as someone who always has at least 4-8 harvestors running. This makes mining that much more difficult. Last night I had to give up on 2 of my harvestors because I just couldn't get to them. MOBS too high for me to kill and they refused to be led away by a burst run without immediately returning to my harvestors and I had only put 24 hours of power and maintenance in the night before. I refused to give up on the resources though so on 2 of them I ran up and unloaded the hopper as I was getting incapacitated - then I just ran away. Couldn't afford to do that 2 more times per harvestor just for power and maintenance, especially when you never know when a death blow is coming. There were tons of nests and dozens of reds scattered all throughout the entire field of harvestors. At least 75% of the area was inaccessible unless you have a group of fighters with you . . . and if you left the harvestor area - not a MOB to be found. This was a first for me and very frustrating - took at least an extra hour to get my resources and replenish the harvestors and I had to give up on 2 of them. Maybe I am just not aware of a harvesting managment tactic that would allow an intermediate pistol user with a DL44 to get past 6-10 reds standing on top of my harvestors ??? Still it seems to me that the devs attempt to increase spawns and MOB difficulty levels was VERY successful, but why so many in all the good harvestor locations?
Also, if you can't get to your harvestor to destroy it, how long after maint and power run out before you automatically get the lot back ?

The last one suckered me BIG time. A nest of kreetles, some wandering close enough to agrro on me. Feeling frustrated at this point, I decided to plink a bunch as they were blue cons. That went so well I decided to destroy the nest and be done with it. A couple of shots from finishing it, I had two "death kreetle" and a huge one, I think it was called an overkreetle, all spawn at once. And of course they all rushed me. Say g'night **edit**. Down I went.
I am sure the massive increase in creature spawns near harvesters is completely random....but there is one group of Tuskan raiders and captains that has been hanging out near one of mine for almost a week now...I'm hoping they get bored and move on soon!
