Thread: Architects Suggested fair Pricing Sheme
Been reading many posts and threads concerning issues in this area and crunching some numbers. Here is a list of what I have come up with for a "fair" pricing scheme for any up and coming Architects.

I believe these prices are reasonable with all things considered. If we Architects were to charge less we wouldnt be sailing on an even keel and making a decent headway. Going lower than this will put a strain on the masts and risk your boat sinking. I ask that all architects conform to these "fair" pricing suggestions lest we all suffer from from those who would take advantage of our desperations to keep our boats afloat. If you gotta take down some harvesters for awhile and run missions then do it, but we all need to stop swindlers from ripping us off just because we let them. Im not saying everyone does this, but many do. Paying heavily out of our own pockets just to get the exp. Sales have been dropping, cant help that.... at least until DEV's come up with a way to recycle our business like the smiths.
Large will cap at 250. 3 smalls will have a grand total of 450. both take 6 lots. It's calculated by house, not by the person. Holo is good at avoiding an answer to this cause he knows what it does to our class.
Besides the distinct lack of ethics demonstrated by anyone accepting a blanket price-fixing scheme as proposed above, I would like to point out that the ridiculous prices for Medium Mineral Harvestors listed above make no sense:
You are proposing to sell medium chemical and gas harvestors, which use the same amount of resources as a factory, for 30,000 credits while selling factories at 50,000 - 70,000 credits.
So at the same time you are ripping people off over the cost of a factory, you are losing money on the sale of medium harvestors. Make up your mind, either rip people off or sell at a loss, I don't care, I'll go right on ahead selling for reasonable prices.
These prices are almost as bad as that guy I saw selling R-series droids for 100,000 credits last night.
-I AM WARGHUL
I'd be making over 2 million a day at your prices. I feel my prices are relatively high, but those are just stupid.

That's my pricing levels. I think they are very reasonable.. some things might be a little high while others a little low... but so far it's been working for me.
I also think the price for the personal harvestors is out of line. You have those going for a tidy profit / resource compared to the mediums.
On the other hand, I think your prices for medium houses are too low. Have you actually sat down and worked out how much it takes in resources for these various items? It sure doesn't look like it.
The bottom line on prices for me is this - I will charge what the market will bear. If I can't make a good profit at it (the market won't bear it), I simply don't make the item. But I don't charge less for it.
Being a Master Architect for quite a while now, I am thinking that it would be easier just to go into the business of selling resources, looking at the price that some Architects sell their buildings. I would say the average price of resources are 3 credits per resource unit. If you didn't have harvesters, you would have to buy all the resources. If you did, this would be the costs of thesestructures (all resources are non-generic structures). You also have to take into account critical failures, which I say happens about 5% of the time. Let's take a look at how many resources each item uses and multiply by 3 then add 5% to it to get a wholesale price on these structures:
Small House: 3,388 units= 10,672 credits
Medium House: 18,350 units = 57,802 credits
Large House: 37,584 units = 118,389 credits
Personal Harvesters: 250 units = 787 credits
Mineral Mining Installation: 3,607 units = 11,362 credits
Heavy Mineral Mining Installation:33,045 units = 104,091 credits
Guild Hall: 58,452 units = 184,123 credits
If you sell for this price or lower, you might as well save yourself a bunch of work and just sell the resources.
So, how do you get the word out? You will still see people selling small houses for 5k, medium houses for 35k, medium harvesters for 9k and large houses for 90k. What do we do about them? Hope they go broke, that's what. Hope they get tired of being broke and change professions.
