I am using the same materials that give me a ber 13 on everything else. could someone let me know if 12 is the highest on Gas?

Remember that it takes all of the materials for the final assembly and weights them by the amount of the resource. For a heavy gas harvester it has one slot for (IIRC) 6500 metal. This resource will dominate the calculation so you better be using some great stuff in there.

I've made BER13 gas harvesters by using a +95% Turbo Pump and a big chunk of very nice steel.

I am using 960+ steel, however I forgot the efficiency of the pump, they are 6's tho..will the pump efficiency change final outcome?

Yes it will... and it is not good enough to be 'just efficiency 6' The actual percentages you experiment it up to DO matter. If you can get up to 97% area you only need around 88% on final assembly.. if its around 90% you will need 95% final assembly... ish.

When you say "960" what is 960? Are UT/Heat/Shock all 960? Remember to check all three stats.
