Since SOE closed down the general forums andstarting threadsin the in development and in concept forums are limited to correspondents and Devs I suppose this is the right place for this thread.

I'm not an architect, but I am a home owner. I've had a small house for some time but never really used it for much more than excess storage. I've recently joined a player city and am spending a little more time at my home. I've noticed two big problems with housing. I'm sure neither of which is new to this forum.

1) Storage. Aside from seating and crafting stations, furniture seems to be fairly useless other than for atmosphere. It lacks function. I'm totally into function over form and therefore this is a problem for me. I would like to see cabinets that can actually hold items. Same for armoires, tool chests and bookcases. There are already three types of storage modules in the game, two for houses and one for droids. Would it not be possible to code a fourth storage module for furniture and add that as a component for certain pieces of furniture?

I read in another threadabout placing a backpack on the floor then placing a storage type piece of furniture over it. While that is one way to make what should be a useful piece of furniture appear to be useful, it's just not quite the same.

2) Decoration. Decorating small and medium homes is limited to x and y axis only, and in large homes one can only use the z axis if they drop items on the stairs. Why not add a command for funiture to allow changes in the z axis? I'd like to put my prize fishingcatches on the wall, not on the floor. Also, what would be the use of me buying a table lamp if it's going to sit on the floor and not on a table?

If one thread I glanced at is correct, in that there is no architect correspondent, then perhaps this isn't the time to make this post. I'm willing to bet I'm not the only player in the game who would like to see these changes.

Comments, criticisms?

The non existent z axis controlin medium homes areonly a problem to us Corellians, small is universal, but it is in the works and nearing completion supposedly. And if you want things to work as implied...well good luck but you have to create the function and then form the system to work with it.
