Thread: Odd xp payout for architect...

I'm sure I'll get one starred for this post, but I searched the FAQ, swgcraft and whatnot and from what I can gather the actual combine on wall modules is only 1250 xp?


This seems like a ripoff from a grinding point of view. Dump 3000 resources (not counting the strucs since you already got the xp for those resources) and you only get 1250 ??


Am I missing something? From a grinding point of view this seems like a kick in the rear. Guess the most efficient resource way to get xp is just grind structural modules?

You get 500 XP per structural module.

500x10 = 5000.

plus 1000 for the combine into a wall and you get 6000.

You could sacrifice the 10 SMs and practice the wall, but that's not really the best thing to do, since you'll either use up the walls or sell them off.

I am wrong? Well since all I am claiming is that I have read in several locations that the final combine on a wall module only gets 1250 xp no I am not. I can point at posts, and if you go to swgcraft.com you'll see that several people claim this to be the case.


If you have any direct evidence (having actually checked your xp, made a wall combine, and checked the increase) that counters this please post it. Your claim of 2 xp per resource is the standard. Which is why I am so confused that people are saying they only get 1250 for using up 3000 resources.


To the person who pointed out the combine plus all the structural modules = 6250, that's all fine and dandy, you're still only getting 6250 experience for a total of 5500 resources. That's completely out of sync with almost all other combines I've ever seen.

Ummm - where did you get the figure of 5500 of resources for a wall?

If you go to www.swgcraft.com, and look under schematics, you'll see that each wall takes:

300 metal
200 ore
10 structure modules

A structural module takes:
200 ore
50 metal

And the grand rollup, both according to my hand calculations and swgcraft's rollup is: 3000 units of resources.

So you burn 3000 resources and get 6000 xp. Kinda sounds like the standard 2X rule of thumb to me.

Its not always 2 xp per unit....im pretty sure that you 5000 xp for a statue but u use 3000 units...and 5250 xp when experimenting...

No, it is not "always" - that's why it's a rule of thumb. But I think that most items have this kind of behavior. Some known ones that don't follow the rule of thumb are vehicles.

AHA! thats what I was missunderstanding. See when I went to swgcraft.com I saw the shopping list and was thinking that was the resource cost for JUST the wall combine. I was under the impression from mis-understanding that site that the wall combine was 2200 ore, 800 metal, and 10 structural modules.


So my misconception was from there built up since I assumed I had read the site correctly and went looking for posts of people who said they got 1250 for the final wall combine.


I knew I was missing something =P.


From what I can tell UXP is 5% (same as practice mode) so it's better to just keep the pieces I make and put them into something larger. Just gathering that from the 1250 (500 resources plus 10 modules, means the 250 is the UXP? getting 25 xp per struc module = the same xp you would get making them in practice mode...)
