Thread: Question regarding medium harvester schematics...

I am planning to do a factory run of medium harvesters and I just wanted to find out if components such as the generator turbine, small structure storage modules, fluidic pumps, harvesting mechanisms and light ore mining units need to be from a factory or can I make them as and when I need them in the same way as walls.
I know they are required to be identical for making heavy harvesters and fusions, but can anyone confirm how it works for medium harvesters?

Yes, all components except the structral modules need to also be from the same factory runs as that used on the final combine.

General rule of thumb, if the item you make has a serial number on it, then to use as a componant in a schematic for a factory run, then they must come from a crate. Look at the item you are putting into your build. If it has a serial number, then it must be identical for your factory build.
(Redundant but wanted to be clear as mud here.)

Medium harvesters DO NOT require identical components. You can make them as you need them.

AArrgghh!! Can't edit. Sorry, I did not read the original question correctly. You asked about making factory runs of the medium, and I somehow skipped to the part of just needing identical items for mediums (which is a completely different question). Sorry, the other people did answer this correctly, and I just went brain-dead for a minute there.
