Thread: Getting better crafting station
The "optional" components have a huge effect. Average quality subcomps will build stations around 20-25. Above average will get you into the low-to-mid 30s. Great subcomps will let you break the +35 barrier and head into the 40s. ![]()
I've been using self-made sub-comps and since I haven't been on Shadowfire long enough to build up a decent resource stash, my control units are around 85, micro-sensor suites around 75, and droid storage units are 95% (can't recall the other two MSS components but they're in the 80s). I haven't gone above +36 on a crafting station yet, and that's why. Some day....
It's a real shame that one of the few items that's actually real fun to make, and has agenuine spread of effectiveness, actually remains quite meaningless in terms of its real game effects. You're better off having +14 tools than you are having a +40 station. Oh well....
I've been making 41.373474 crafting stations.
Use only the highest quality copper you can find for the final combine and only use copper for resource slots. I am using 1000 conductivity copper and no, I'm not selling any of the copper.
For the subcomponents, they are key to building a high-quality crafting station, including the droid storage compartments. Make absolutely sure you find a Droid Engineer that can make them over 90%.
One other thing to keep in mind. The stat that matters on all the subcomponents (except micro sensor suite) is 100% OQ. On the mss it's 66% oq and 33% cond. For the final combine conductivity is all that matters. I am currently making +43.55 stations and it takes some pretty amazing resources to do that.
Has anyone ever broken the +44 barrier? If I can ever find a copper with oq and cond in the high 900's and polymer higher than 966 oq I'm going to make a run at 44.
