Thread: Change today? I could only make Rate 9 medium Chem...
Dang, another stealth change or bug with experimentation.
The first time they 'accidently' added experimentation was quite chaotic enough. Who knows.. maybe solar experimentation works now *sigh*

i noticed today also that, used high end durraloy steel and had a rate 4 drilling pump.
got tool 14.88 and station 43.something, got only a rate 9 result at end of all experi bar filled :/

This same thing happened to me a little while ago too. I made a few less than par BER harvs (Heavy chems I think). SoI had thought there was a game change since I was using the same materials as before (just the day before). The only thing different was the Turbo Drilling Pumps I was using. I was in a hurry and didn't want do what I normally do when making the factory schematic (use max experimentation points so i get the fewest number of experiments on the item) and I just did a 2 or 3 points per experiment and got he max BER of 6 on the pump at max percentage I could. Therefore, the only thing different betweent the two pumps was the COMPLEXITY. This goes along with what I am seeing in BER vs Complexity. (see my post Complexity and BER) So I went back and made low complexity Turbo Drilling Pumps and made a some harvs using them and reached max BER on the harv with ease.
Give it a try and be sure to use the same resources.

I most certainlt do emperiment to the max %, just be sure to do it in large sets of points to keep complexity low amd still reach max %.

I'll double check, I'm almost positive that I made them the same way.
I'll keep monitor of the complexity.
I haven't seen that yet (haven't tried to make a big ol' harvester) but I did notice another small experimentation change...
Experimenting on furniture (yes, I do that when I'm bored) I stacked 6 points on, crit failed to 0 as it my wont, and just for kicks threw another two points on (which since the dawn of time has done nothing... once you are at zero, you stay there...)
Great success moved it from 0 to 12.
That's new to me at least... and tells me that there were a few underlying tweaks to the experimentation system in there...
After reading this I went and tested this on gorath.. just now..
I just made each of the medium and heavy harvesters and still get max at Ber 10 for medium and 13 Ber For Heavies..

It's just so wierd. I only wanted to make 1, then I hit ber9. So I made a 2nd one, thenhit ber9 again... Third times a charm right?
I'd like to think of it as.. 'observer error' rather than... 'I fubar'd it'.

I'll have an answer for you tomorrow, as I will be using up the all of my spare parts and minerals I have in stock before I drop master architect.
