How do people not only unlock the the 24 boxes, but learn them as well in such a short time, when you need millions of experience?!?
A guy on my server was visited by the old man, killed the sith shadows, and unlocked and learned 24 skill boxes all in ONE DAY!

Maybe he had a bunch of free trees from hologrinding.
I believe that, if you have a free tree from hologrinding, you not only unlock the tree, but you get the required xp to get all 4 boxes of it also.

my question:
When you unlock a branch (which i assume is a column in each skill tree), how do you actually learn them? From what it appears to me . . . not only do you have to do the quest to "unlock" the branch . .. you then have to aquire enough Force XP to fill each box equalling 1,225,000 Force XP for the whole branch. Mulitplied by 10 if you are using pistol/unarmed/ect = 12,250,000 regular XP. and you have to do it for 6 tress?
It also seems that you can only learn the skills from thebranches you "unlocked"(an assumption madefrom the dialog of the NPCs in the village). This would mean that if they didn't hologrind because you thought the quest method to jedi was going to truly bequest method . . . you are forced togo through 6 cycles (aka 18 weeks)to "unlock" 6 trees which you need 1,225,000 Force XP in each tree to learn. Those that did hologrind got free branches. . .whichI understand but I personally think it penalizes the individuals who wished to "play" the game rather than mindlessly grind through proffessions.
If what I am sumizing is correct . . . the new system isfar more difficult than the former proffession grind. I trusted SOE that they would be implimenting a system that although difficult, was fair but this doesn't seem to be the case (if what I wrote above is in fact correct.) If I knew that hologrinding was gonna have such benifits, I woulda said "to hell with being a character I like . . . I'm gonna grind like everyone else so i have even a remote chance of getting to padawan."
I did Whip's quest to rescue the villagers unlocking the Survival Branch, yet i have no skills I can learn. Am I missing something?

Yeah, doing quests will unlock a column, which you need 6 of to take the padawan trials. To learn the different boxes, you have to convert regular experience to FS experience. For example, the ratio of weapons experience to FS experience, is 30:1, with armor crafting exp, it is 5:1. Not sure what the survival one is...but you need to convert survival experience into FS experience.
