Thread: Three kinds of desk lamps and no desks to put them on?

I don't have an Architect character, but am I missing something? I'd really like to have a couple of desks. We've all seen them in medcenters, NPC buildings, etc. Why can't an Architect make one (or any of the plethora of other NPC-only pieces of furniture)?
Are we doomed to be limited to loot-kit furnishings (which can cost millions of credits - for a freakin' rug!) and limited use painting schematics?

Its not too hard to make a desk out of other items, just stack some end tables creatively or move a cafe table up some and add other parts for legs.
As for new content for architects...I think our revamp is scheduled sometime in 2007 behind the tailor revamp.

Yeah, desks would be cool to have, several different types, but at this rate, I guess I'll just do all my work on the back of my bantha

actually not to burst your bubble but really there's only 2 kinds of desklamps 
one is just the old non-lightcasting kind. Furthermore, I believe you can requisition a desk using faction points from a recruiter! All things considered though I would really love to see more plants, types of furniture and perhaps a few new styles of houses introduced soon.

I don't want some jury-rigged "creative" solution - I want a desk.I have enough storage problems as it is, I don't want to waste 5 spaces in my house with end tablesarranged to look like something other than end tables.
They have the art items in the game as I type. Go to a med center and take a look around. See the one with the video screen? That's what I want. All they need to do is slap together a schematic (50 gem, 150 metal, 50 aluminum, 50 copper, 50 inert petrochem - or something like that) and pop it into the appropriate skill box and you'd be good to go.

The Imperial Table is close and I guess I'll have to use that for now, but what I really want is a "desk" with the video screen/monitor (like the ones in the med centers). Some of the advanced data terminals found in the Warren and other military/mercenary sites would be nice, too. I guess one can always hope.

Ya, wish there were some desk options for architects to make, but for now there's tables and such that could double as desks, and faction desks available for purchase from faction recruiters.

The imperial table works out nicely b/c I have tucked an Architect made Computer into it (45 degree angle) and it looks like an integrated unit with desk and computer.
