I've seen it referred to many times on this board, what items does a Fishtank consist of?

Depends on how big you want it really.
Mine is made with:
4 Chests
3 small potted flowers
2 potted trees
1 large potted plant
4 wooden staves
'T' Street lamp with blue bulb
about 12 ottoman
and 1 single Laa that seems to have eaten all my other fish

It pretty muchtakes an architect, some creativity and a LOT of patience. Some other artisan skills would help too. Although now with the /move up commands, etc.. it's a heck of a lot easier. Back in the day we used the stairs (which is why I'm too traumatized to make them anymore). Essentially you're justtaking normal every day objects and renaming them when you create them, then placing them to look like a fish tank. Beware - it can really eat up the item count in your house.
Here's what you'llneed:
- a floor or base (tool chests are commonly used, although someone used an orange rug to look like sand in Garva's home show that looked absolutely awesome. I used both sizes of tool chests to create some interest, just turn the taller ones around so you don't see the drawers)
- something to delineate the edges (wooden staffs stand up straight and look like the edges of a glass tank when placed at the sides)
- a top (to be very simple, just use some wall modules or simple couches in reverse, or alternatively use a lot of smaller items placed together like ottomons. to get fancy some creative people have used fountains up top, or the large curved couches turned around in reverse)
- plants - vary the heights.I like to drop the flowering plants into the floor so it looks like the flowers are growing out of your base.
- and of course - fish!
When you're making each item, name it something that fits the intent. e.g. 'gravel' 'sand' 'aquarium' 'glass case' 'filter''plant life' 'algae covered rock' etc...
You can also get creative and add some neat elements like:
- torches hidden in the back - the smoke simulates the movement of water
- the food and chemical crafting tool can look like a filtration unit (works best with a larger aquarium due to its size) or a treasure chest
- lighting
- a background
- some smugglerspices called 'fish food'
The fun parts are a) getting creative and thinking of something that you haven't seen before and b) the feedback when friends first see it. ![]()

The novice couth and chairs are at about the exact same height so as to conceal the legs of a long cafe table and make a large dirt colored are for the floor of the tank. Toolchests work well too but this would be less items and have a more definitive edge. After that just put in some green, brown, and grey chests to look like rocks, some random plants, and some fish and voila. Torch smoke adds a vapor feel to it plus light, blue streetlamps are also a usefull addition to make it look more watery. Check out Zel's website, it's linked through my webpage or her sig has it on Moolyssa, she has a ton of fishtanks on it. I've got a couple but not nearly as many.
