sorry, the enter key posted the topic before i was truly ready for it.

the point is, i understand quite well that forums take up space yadda yadda, so the fewer the better. however, if you scan the architects forums, everyones complaining about there really being no place for architects, as we're all just water going stagnant. the shipwrights are happy because space mining is appearing to be an excellent boost to them, the droid engineers don't really seem to have any complaints, and i don't know whether the master artisans do or not.

again, the point is, if the crafters could all come TOGETHER to discuss the future of the CRAFTING professions, we'd likely get all the nice things we want, like some attention diverted to crafting from combat.

does this sound too much like a foolish wish?

in response to the question "is there a combat profession?"

uh, do they need one?

would it get any MORE attention for their end of the game?

do they WANT one?

if the answer to either the first or last of those questions is yes, they need one, lets all scream and holler and get em one.

as to the second question, if the answer is yes, they don't need one.

There are forums that are more general in nature like the business /economy forum or the core systems forum but not one for 'crafting' in general.

A general crafting forum would be good for handling stuff that affects all crafters. But since there isn't one those topics are probably best posted in the core systems forum now.

I only answered that b/c the post had no text in it so i went by the title and ask a smiliar (sp?) question.

i wasn't attempting to jump you or anything, just responding honestly, if they need one, give it to em, i feel crafters DO need one though.

if all the crafters stood up collectively and started screaming about how they want things done for them, maybe we'd get a "crafters update" i'd really love to see that, no more shortening the combat update to "CU" because WE'D be CU too!

unless of course you take an honest approach to things "CU" combat update, worthy of uppercase letters because of course they are considered the most important in the game.

"cu" crafter update, only lowercase because it wasn't anything but an afterthought.

and the reason i posted this here, is plain and simply for a group of people to get something done, it's got to be started within that group of people. if the architect profession liason speaks with the developers, i believe it much more likely we'd get the crafters forum than if it were just in the core systems forums.

eh, on taking a look at the core systems business and economy forum, i believe something may be doable from there. however, i'd still rather not have to go there, as the core systems forums get rather frantic, with quite a bit of flaming, which is not good at all for intelligent discussion.

There are other forums. For example: this is a pretty nice forum that seems to be more dedicated to crafters.
