Thread: Factories putting wrong creature name on items
I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I usually look at the name of the item, not the creator. If I see a disparity I almost always instantly assume it's an alt or something.
I've never noticed factories doing that, but I'll take a look sometime and see if mine do that, too.
I would be more worried if you didn't custom name the deed at all, left it generic, and had the wrong creator's name on it - then you might worry people think you're a reseller or something. Even then, when the price is right, I doubt anyone will be overly concerned as a customer.
yes, I know the Tanned Hide schematic is single use / non factoryfiable
When you name your carefully crafted works of art "Heavy Mineral Extractors BER13 by Morrow," the name on the deed goes away after the deed is used for the first time, and your wife's alt, whose lot you used to drop the factory, gets the credit and the glory.
It wouldn't be so bad if the wife's alt wasn't the evil twin...
I can almost guarantee you that nobody cares who's name is on the things we make once they buy it.
Nobody buys my harvesters or factories because I made them.
They buy the harvesters 1) because they fill a need that the player has, 2) they have stats that are desired, 3)they are at a price the player is willing to pay, and 4) (probably most important) they were in stock when the player was looking for them.
I have never found a single person who has said, "Hey, you didn't make this harvester that's on your vendor so I'm not gonna buy it from you."
Vanity names for architect items are, in my opinion, useless.
I used to add "by Elyssa" to all my furniture but then I decided that maybe people didn't want to see my name on their screen every time they look at their furniture.
Yes, it's a known bug. It only happens with structure factories. It used to happen with all factories once upon a time until they fixed it. I think when structure factories went to one lot instead of two, the bug returned. But then again, it may have never went away.
