New game "feature"?

I have been running factories on a combat friends account for months. I craft, create the schematics, run the factories, and he gets a percentage cut for the lot usage.

I run walls, turbine gens, ect and no problem - all the output comes out in the name of my character that created the schematic.

So today I'm finally ready to run my first 166 run of Heavy Harvesters load the factory and hit go. Run the first 20 and the deed comes out with his name as creator?!? Now how is it going to look with my name brand on the deeds and his name as creator. I have always done the final product assembly buy hand but I'm not going to chance that on harvesters.

So is this a new "feature" or have factories always but the factory owners name on deeds (but not subcomponents) dispite who made the schematic?

I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I usually look at the name of the item, not the creator. If I see a disparity I almost always instantly assume it's an alt or something.

I've never noticed factories doing that, but I'll take a look sometime and see if mine do that, too.

I would be more worried if you didn't custom name the deed at all, left it generic, and had the wrong creator's name on it - then you might worry people think you're a reseller or something. Even then, when the price is right, I doubt anyone will be overly concerned as a customer.

I think it's always been that way.

hehehe When I read that subject, I was picturing somethng like "Tanned Wookie Hides" coming out like "Tanned Gungan Hides"...

yes, I know the Tanned Hide schematic is single use / non factoryfiable

Why do people pay to play a MMORPG but not want to interact with other people?
Why, SOELA, why? Did the entire management join a cult, and at the same time perform home lobotomies?
It takes less time to look at the stickies than to ask a question and wait for sarcastic replies. So please oh PLEASE ask the same question many times. I enjoy the sarcastic remarks.

It gets worse.

When you name your carefully crafted works of art "Heavy Mineral Extractors BER13 by Morrow," the name on the deed goes away after the deed is used for the first time, and your wife's alt, whose lot you used to drop the factory, gets the credit and the glory.

It wouldn't be so bad if the wife's alt wasn't the evil twin...

I can almost guarantee you that nobody cares who's name is on the things we make once they buy it.
Nobody buys my harvesters or factories because I made them.

They buy the harvesters 1) because they fill a need that the player has, 2) they have stats that are desired, 3)they are at a price the player is willing to pay, and 4) (probably most important) they were in stock when the player was looking for them.

I frequently buy harvesters that I find on random vendors that are priced much lower than I sell them for.
I have never found a single person who has said, "Hey, you didn't make this harvester that's on your vendor so I'm not gonna buy it from you."

Vanity names for architect items are, in my opinion, useless.
I used to add "by Elyssa" to all my furniture but then I decided that maybe people didn't want to see my name on their screen every time they look at their furniture.

Yes, it's a known bug. It only happens with structure factories. It used to happen with all factories once upon a time until they fixed it. I think when structure factories went to one lot instead of two, the bug returned. But then again, it may have never went away.

I too stopped appending my name to furniture. I didnt want my clients to feel the stuff they bought was mine; they pay for it, so its thiers. However, I only do this for furniture. I make sure all the deeds I generate have my name at the end. It is important that I establish my brand name, especially if people are finding my stuff on the GWVS. Since my name goes away after the structure is generated, its no big deal.

Oh, I almost forgot, I do brand my swoops and other vehicles.

That's more of an affectation than any attempt to build customer loyalty, tho.

Amen to the above poster, I get really tired of walking through my house and seeing other people's names on stuff. I mean, great, they made it, but for them to not only get my credits but free advertising as well, doesn't seem right. Luckily I am an Arch now, and as such I do not put my name on anything that I make anymore than it has to be (as the creator). I'm not in it for people to annoyingly remember my name, I'm in it to make credits....

whats worse is people putting their names on the paintings. It isn't the architects work of art, it is some NPC artists work, we just reproduce them.

I don't rename my paintings but I have always marketed them as mass-produced knock-offs of fine art.

I did, however, rename a few Ronka Plant paintings to "Counterfeit Grunda Painting"
