25% HR, 25% SR, 50% UT = for your steel 971. You need 980.39216*1.02=1000, least that's the math I've been using. Everyone has stated 981 is what you need, so you're 10pts off still. =)
If I were you, I'd look around for some nice kammris iron or something. Do a search on swgcraft.com for 'metals', type in the %'s for hr/sr/ut, and sort by the avg to see what metals are out there on your server. Then do a bazaar search and see who's selling. This way you can use some higher end metal (iron usually) to help w/ the steel you're using to reach ber14.

I have someREALLY good Kammris Iron I used back when I was making weapons, but that won't help my OMU woes though will it? 2/3 of the OMU is Steel. I'll get back in game in a few hours and test it out.
If I need new steel, I am done for. Bria is way too cutthroat on Resources like those needed in these high of stats. I'd almost be better off making ber14's off 30K resources deeds. LOL J/K but you know what I mean. The cost / benifit for me if I can't get Geodris to work will be horrible.

short answer: if your resources are good enough (avg > 980), you still need one amazing success.
long answer: with resources that are good enough, you will start with 29%. Each great success will add 7% per exppoint. 10 points will give you +70% for a total of99%. Now, the game will not let you experiment anymore if you hit exactly 99%. So you need at least 1 amazing success (which is 8%) to get 100%.
(note: i got an amazing success and hit BER 7 on the OMU with only 99%, and made BER14 just fine)
I hope this is clear.

Well. I got BER7 FINALLY!!! YEAH!!! /cheer macro.
... and people say 12 pt is useless. I was working on OMU attempt #6 and got a critical fail and had 2 boxes to fill and had 2 points left. The next experiment was great and thenamazing and that put me into BER7 on OMU!

I hit 7 on the OMU but I put them Into a heavie, and got 91% becuase i have a limited amount so im not shure whats going on do I need to use the same resources that I used for the OMU?
You will need to use 981 quality level materials on the OMU and during the final combine.

No you're right. You won't be able to get a 100% OMU with that 970 steel no matter how good the iron is cause OMUs use a lot of steel. But depending on the schematic, a really good iron might be enough to pull your average up. Like the fluidic drilling pump is 100 units steel and 185 units metal so a 990 level iron plus your 970 steel would give you above 980 for that part.
BTW, Bria has an iron currently in spawn right now named 'goka' with HR 998 , SR 957 , UT 997.Hope you're mining that stuff. Thats 987 level and will be really useful.
Im not in game but I am 99% sure I have some Iron that is equally as good as that spawn(995 ish on UT/HR). I mined about 500K units of it maybe 6 months ago or so. I'll give it a whirl on pumps and see what happens. Unfortunately, Deep Crust Extractors& Moistue Vaporatorssell about as good as Ottomans for me (not good LOL) and using THAT much BER14 material in Gas mines is cost prohibitive IMO.
I really only specialize in Heavy Mineral and that is it, so this is a real downer.
walcyradiant, thanks for the mathmatical explination. That gives me something to aim for when looking at new resource spawns.
The duralloy was 996 HR/ 995 SR/ 989 UT (120 units)
The kammris was 996 HR/ 975 SR/ 974 UT (210 units)
I'd say the percentages aren't weighted like some conjectured and use the average 980 formula.
