What do walls usually sell for on starsider, does it stick to the normal 3c per resource rule? Also is there anyone on starsider looking to buy wall segments?

Thank you!

Can't help you out on Starsider but on Eclipse walls tend to sell for a small amount less than the resources. Reason usually being that the person making the walls is just doing it to get exp. Unless an arch really needs more walls to fill an order I can't see many paying more than the resource cost as well.

I agree with Numen...

price for walls that i see is usualy lower than the 3 cpu (aprox) cost of the resources.

His first reason, that thenovice is making the wall for xp, is certainly a part of it.

The other reason (speaking as a Master Architect that buys walls) is that single walls are a pain... they take up too much inventory space when you have anumber that are usefull to build stuff. Given the choice between buying a hand made wall for 3 cpu and buying (or making) a factory crated wall for 3 cpu I would always take the crate.

So there has to be a small price advantage to the architect to buy the single walls.

The only time i might make an exception to that is when I run low on ore, and buying walls is just an alrenative to finding the ore and then making them myself. If I cant buy the raw ore, then buying walls at the same cpu works just as well.

I find that for my "apprentices" a much better solution is to give them equivalent amounts of ore instead of paying for the walls. I have a couple of people that make walls for me on a regular basis. They grind ore, give me10 walls or so at a crack, and I hand them 30k resources, usually ore, because it's harder for them to come by than it is for me.

They like this, because it keeps them grinding, whereas the money, had I paid for the wall, would not have helped them as much. I like it, cause I'm getting rid of my back-inventory of ore, and i keepmy money!

Acer,

Yeah. I've done that too.... it all depends on my supply of ore at the time.

Not sure on farstar but I have seen them on Starsider for 6-10k each with 7k being the most common.
