Well, you can get a free painting by doing a very simple quest on Rori/Narmle. There's an NPC in the guild hallwho sends you off on a quest about 1000m away from the city. You get attacked once from a different NPC once you're there- no big deal. He gives you a painting. Well, take it and don'tbring it back. That's a free one.
There also another painting that you can get by doing the Sean Trenholn (I think that's his name) quest once he wins the election. Do the first part of the quest by going to see him in Bestine on Tatooine - he's in the Political building on the main floor in a roomto the left. He will tell you to talk to his associate first, who is right beside him. His associate will tell you to do one of 3 little tasks - do the one about going to see the Museum Curator - as that's the very next building over.
You talk to the curator, he give you some official transcript and you bring it back to the Political buildingto the the Governor-ness, downstairs onthe right- in the room where there's a picture of Nym on the wall. Then, it's back upstairs to tell our buddy Sean that you voted for him. That's part one - then we wait for the election results to continue this quest.
Now, that you know where the Bestine museum is, you can go see the museum curator and purchase an art schematic for 48k.The art changes on some frequency - I just haven't figured when that is. So, visit the museum once a month or so.You'll get a 2 "use" schematic which means if you make it yourself manually and make two of them - that's it. If you use a factory - you can make 1000 with each - giving 2000.
To make them, you need to be or have Architect - Furniture III (I think it is). It takes wood and something else (?metal) to make.
