I had to drop some rifle to get advertising 4 to use the new barking droids. This has made me unhappy as i am now 3/0/0/0 rifle. I am considering dropping Architech so that I can put the points back into rifle. As we dont seem to have much future as it appears to me, I am contemplating this more and more, even though I have been Master Architech since september 2003. Please give me your thoughts and help me make this really hard decision.

thanks

I think that you could drop Master and one of the lines, for example the Buildingstree. Then you could still make everything but the buildings and guild halls. Not a huge demand for those anyway. I'd keep furniture and construction cause those give you the skil points. Or if you happen to specialize in buildings then you could drop the harvester tree. By dropping Master title you loose 20 points in assembly and experimentation. In my experience you can still make max BER with 8 points in experimentation if using good materials. Also you could supplement with SEAs. Also, you'll have plenty of XP piled up so that you could very quickly pick up master again at any time. It seems pretty doable to me.

Or you could also consider dropping Master Artisan. You could probably do without the Domestic Arts tree. Dunno what you might use Artisan experimentation for though, if you make crafting stations then you'd really want to keep that.

This is a personal choice. You seem to enjoy combat more than crafting, so maybe that is the thing for you. Being a crafter is more about selling goods and the social interaction skills you must have. It's finding that demand and getting your goods to market. People still need houses for storage or bigger houses for business ventures or luxury. I see a lot of new people in the game and they have demand for items. I still haven't decorated my house, so I'm letting this new novice architect build furiture for me that move into my town.

New items come in starts and fits. Paintings change every couple of weeks and most of them I enjoy so this is a way to have new things to put on the vendor, but many of the old things are in demand too. My friends factory exploded the other day, I know he will need a new one. Lights burn out over time, maybe you can sell those.

It's more a matter of personal taste. Architect isn't like Armorsmith where you sell massive quntities all the time, but you should be able to do a steady business. Maybe you should dump merchant and find a friend you can work with that will help you out, freeing you up for other things. I play 2 characters. A crafter on one server and a more combat guy on another.
