Ideas that will get shot down/things that would be nice for archs...

Storage Buildings:

We've all been on the road at some point and have passed one of those storage buildings. They're the ones w/ 20-30 seperate rooms w/ sliding garage-like doors. These are for the obvious: Owner makes money off of rent based on the demand for storage. How many people are trading lots just for houses and storage, simply because their main lots are taken up by harvesters/large city structures, or their banks are full? Giving architects the ability to craft a building like this, would eliminate the extra houses floating around and just might provide a little income on the side. The amount of lots taken up by this building, the rent, who needs to place the structure, etc... are all up for debate. Down side is, house sales might be lowered more so then they are now.

Appartment Complexes:

How many PoI's have complexes w/ multiple living quarters? They look neat, they define the point of interest by adding character, yet they serve no real purpose. I like the idea of seeing the same unique buildings in player cities. It's something that is certainly missing in cities, especially if you're a role player. I like the idea of living in a small room/appartment. Some people might not want to waste lots on houses (assuming the Arch's lots would be taken up, or whoever might place these) and would just like the idea. This could provide income for archs, save other people's lots, and add a more unique perspective to player cities. Down side once again, house sales would drop. On the other hand, this might increase house value/sale price.

New Houses:

Of course every arch wouldn't mind the idea of a new house. But I'd like to see something along the lines of a lower-class household. In fact, I'd like to see something similar to merchant tents but actually serve as living quarters. Making a tent to serve those hermits out there would also add more depth to galaxies. While scouts can make camps and merchants have their tents, a hybrid of sorts that allows you to live where you place such, would be great.

City walls/bridges/general fortifications:

There isn't much explaining here, but I'm sure this would be difficult to incorporate. While I doubt a player city could be completly surrounded by walls, fortifications or additions that could be made to key city structures might add more depth, increase arch income, city defense, etc etc...

Faction related bases:

Yes, I'm quite sure this has been brought up many times...many, many times. From what I understand, in order to complete the construction of mandalorian armor, more then one master prof is required to be present, yes? (Correct me if I'm wrong). Assuming this is the case, it opens the door to multiple people being required to participate in the construction of X item, namely, as you might have guessed: Faction bases! Lets face it... The average joe can't afford to buy enough faction for the largest base available (Detachment HQ?). Bases go down quite easily due to early/am vuln times. (Much easier to get a team of 15 together at 3am in the morning to attack a base, then 10 to defend). Everyone's nodding their heads at this point. Yes, yes... Expensive... Yes, yes... Pain in the arse. If the devs allowed the construction of faction related bases, requiring 4-5 people to be present, with a cap on the amount of bases made (x amount only until one or all have been destroyed) then the GCW could/would/will pick up a few notches. This idea, while not original, isn't about money making. It's about saving money. It's about pushing the GCW to the front lines where it should be, making targets abundant, making replacement easier, and making archs MUCH more useful. If this were to be implemented, all the forementioned ideas could be set asside. There is ALWAYS a demand for bases. I don't know how many guilds I've talked with that would like to place bases, but the overall cost/loss on both fronts (faction/defense) is too high.

Read the title, Read the content, the two don't gel. There are some good thoughts here, not new, but definitely worth repeating.

Here's another dumb idea.

How about a Bulletin Board that can be placed in player cities? It could be similar in size to a bank or mission terminal.

It could function very much like a mission terminal or email when used. Anybody could post or readmessages on it, but could only post one message every 15 minutes. Limit the number of posts to say... 100 messages with old messages deleting as new ones are placed.

/cityban would prevent use by abusers.
