Thread: Lack of Experience Gain...

ok...been away...got back...decided to get Architect...started crafting to get the 33k general crafting I need for Novice. I used to be able to run 3 crafting tools but now it seems if I try to use more than 2 the third just shuts off repeatedly. So then I tried to use a factory but I gained no experience at all from the items I made in there. So I am asking...is this intentional? Are they trying to limit how fast we gain experience byb making these changes? Is this a bug? I have tried asking on other boards and even from the CSR's ingame...but so far no one will answer me...

Not really sure what you mean here. You can only use one crafting tool at a time but you can use as many as you want one after the other.

So then I tried to use a factory but I gained no experience at all from the items I made in there.

You should get XP from a factory I believe. I assume that is still working? Its not a large amount though, maybe 10% of what you get for crafting by hand.

simple...by my saying I use 3 tools at once I mean I can start up 1...have it going and start another...have it going and start a third before the first is finished...and just cycle through 3 of them like that. Right now...I can get 2 going but the third will just quit at some point through the process of making the item. It's not always the same point...but it always ends with me getting the message "crafting session ended". Even trying to restart it while the other 2 are running I get the same thing.

As for the factory...I placed a schematic in it for 1000 units of a crafting tool and started it up...sitting there right by it my experience in general crafting did not gain even 1 point. I made 72 items before I stopped the factory. I have tried relogging and rebooting in hopes that the experience gain would appear but it did not. Even 10% of the normal experience would have shown something...

I am currently requesting the presence of a CSR ingame but I doubt they will bother answering...

I took a break from arch for a bit and haven't been back to the boards until now. Are you saying that factories give xp again? I thought that went away last year.

If you are using the tools in the 'macro' slots (or whatever they are called, the toolbar thingy at the top of the screen) then check that you have not accidentally placed the same tool in 2 of the slots, if you have it will be working already after you have started from slot 1 or 2.

I'm not 100% sure. I know at one point they were giving XP. But I don't know for sure if they are now, havne't checked it lately. I'm a master artisan / master architect so my XP is capped.

On tools ending other sessions, this is tied to the code for the schematic.

For example, try to craft 3 food tools fast. The 3rd one will crash as the 1st one finishes.

But at engineering 3 when you can do wind generators there is no more problem.

I remember a few in the architect grind like this, but since it's been since October 2003 memory fails me. Artisan I regularly grind back up for changes in other toons.
