So have harvestors placed by 'deleted characters' (placed prior to patch) gone poof?

Yea i know they 'will', i'm curious if anyone has verified that the ones that were placed by now deleted characters prior to the patch are gone.

I'm convinced this is how the big fields were done. Kinda smackfaced that I didn't even know this was possible till they were gonna fix it.

Two huge fields on Dantooine were gone this morning. Hmmm....

I had 6 heavies that I was leasing from a player when he told me he was going to quit, delete his character and let his brother have the account.

This was back in January, and for kicks I told him to leave the harvesters down just to see what would happen to them. We exchanged emails and I let him know they were still there after he deleted.

They are in fact, still in the same spot, even as of last night, so I don't know if this was an instantaneous thing or what. I haven't logged in yet, so they might be gone today, who knows?

!!!! Ferchrissakes please someone tell me this wasn't (ISN'T!) possible. With that kind of blatant exploit being possible it's no wonder the economy's so buggered.

Sorry to say, but it looks that way. I'm guilty of having 6 of them down, but I was more interested in seeing how long they'd stay. It never occured to me to have someone plant and delete 9-10 times.

As an aside, those 6 harvesters of mine were still in place this afternoon, so I'm not sure what's going on to tell the truth.

I know someone who has a lolt of these, but didn't know it. The person who actually got them planted didn't reveal the exact method by which they came about, and so far abotu 40 of them have gone poof. He is now expecting about 110 more to go poof over the next few days. They seem to be either going by planet, or some sort of step by step method. Each day more and more shoudl poof, until probably Monday, when they shoudl all be gone. I wonder if resource prices will rise again?

I'm guilty. I have a few houses and extractors from players gone past too. I don't know if their characters are actually deleted or not or if/whenold characters purged after a period of inactivity.? I dunno. And as of yesterday, everthing was still there.

To me, this is some kind of an expliot or something andthat I am taking advantage of. I don't think it's totally fair. I'm guilty, but hey.

Remember that there is a difference between someone allowing their account to go inactive and someone explicitly *deleting* their character. The inactive chars are still there in the database until SOE decides to do housecleaning (basically, they want people to change their minds and activate their accounts again).

Yesterday I had a customer on Wanderhome who was gearing up to replace his guild's PA hall and all the stuff stored in it. It seems that the guy who was holding the PA Hall forgot that he was holding it, decided to try a new character and so deleted his old toon and started a new one. Poof - PA hall and all it's contents went away.

So, at least for some structures this very definately IS happening.
