How many are required for a medium house?

And I had this weird bug happen to me today, I got warped to coords 0, 0 and had just sold my small house to someone. When I relogged I was in the middle of nowhere, without the house, without the money I got for the house, and many items missing. My lots were also used up even though I had no more house. <<<< Anyone have this happen to them?

1) A medium house uses 2 lots.
