Thread: Cancel cafting and your items go missing?!?!
I have been getting feedback from other players about this issue. I just had it happen to me.
You begin crafting anything, lets take a wall module. Craft up 9 structure modules, last one is coming out of crafting tool #2. Open crafting tool #1 and begin to put together the wall module, as you wait for the last structure module to come out. You have room in your pack but the structure module coming out give you the message your pack is full etc. So click over to crafting tool #2 and select to remove the item from the hopper which still gives you the same pack full message. Go back to crafting tool #1 and click the "X" to close the entire window. Now check you pack and you will see nothing in it, even though it was all there during the crafting proceedure! You will still have the structure module waiting to be release from tool #2.
Am I going to have to wait until the f'ing server reboots to claim my items like the other issue that is closely related to this one?
Ask me how pissed off I am at the time I have lost!? The more I involve myself in this game the more and more I can see the same releationship between the developement of Ultima Online and the same reoccuring issues in SWG. I thought you would have graduated from that platform but it is EXTREMELY apparent you have not learned your lessons yet.
Will the fundamental issues effecting our game play be addressed before rideables are introduced? Or are you going to take the same looser approach some of you took with the development of UO and 6 years later still promise that you will address all issues at that time within a single monthly patching?! Anyone who stills plays that game is well aware of the falicy being preached.
Your right. I read another post (took more than a few hours to randomly uncover someone else giving advice to another persons issue). I think the time out is around 15mins before the server will reload all of your items. That was the typical time out range in UO too, which does not surprise me.
IF ANYONE HAS ITEMS MISSING LOGOUT FOR 15-20 MINS AND IT SHOULD REAPPEAR IN YOUR PACK.
I don't think I will comment any further on this issue as it is something that effects almost everyone and yet alone have a problem like this on live servers. This kind of lazyness would not get past my watch if I had some say in watching over deveopment.
Thank god it wasn't just me. I had this same problem happen to me 10 or 15 times. EVERY time it happened when I got that "Your inventory is full or the item is too big message...please make room" while crafting. I would hit back or exit, but because my inventory was full the items I had loaded into the schematic would disappear.
Take heart though, they aren't gone forever. Just clear up inventory and log out for a few minutes, then log back in. They will reappear.
How I work around this is simple: I don't craft the final product until I have all the components sitting in my inventory. You can make room by dragging stuff back to your backpack (like metals) after you've loaded some into the schematic.
Hope this helps, I was getting very, very frustrated too.
